Where did you get that info from?

Can't find anything on it on the BBC or uk.weather.com for any significant snow in Northern Ireland. The 10 day forecast shows rain/snow showers for next Monday so that would seem that any snow is unlikely to lie for long if there is rain in the mix.

I've had my fill of rain, so at least it will give me some variety.

I reckon it will not materialise.

The met office press release seems very uncertain beyond Friday and even then the worst of the snow will largely be confined to the East of England & Scotland as far as they can tell.

UTV's website is showing only cloudy cold weather for the weekend so looks like they are not so confident about it either.

Oh well guess we will just have to wait and see.

the met office can't even tell you what the weather's been like today - so their chances of an accurate 5-day forecast are pretty remote.....

This is the weather site that I mistrust the least....

indeed, instead of going out and getting soaked, you will be able to turn a corner and skid on your side straight into a hedge..............its all good

I hope it does snow. Then the bike can have a rest and the crampons and axes can get an outing for the first time in a LOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGG while. They didn't see the light of day in sunny Hampshire (notwithstanding the distinct lack of mountains in that area).

I really need to get my MTB sorted (needs a rear suspension service and is currently off the bike). Don't like going out in ice or snow on the road bike.

    MTFU

+1 One shall ride in a summer jersey and shorts with no gloves and warmers to demonstrate superiority. Anyone who does not comply needs to MTFU. 8) No avoiding high-altitude climbs to stay warmer too:

  • when the media darlings start fretting about snow it's usually about London and the worry that their Skinny Mocha Choha Walnut Ginger spice Latte will be cold by the time they get from Blahstucks to their waiting taxi....

Well - I got up extra early today to go ride before the snow/sleet started in my area.

And besides going like a sack of hammers, I'm pretty sure I got mild frostbite in the fingers in one hand! Definitely need better winter gloves. The pain was so excrutiating - and that was AFTER it started to warm up!!

Thank goodness for the mountain bike - managed 2 decent rides this weekend with only one comedy tumble on a frozen puddle. Proper workout riding at 4mph through 6" deep snow.
