Is it true he's posed for Playboy? (Or should that be Playgirl?)

First Cav, then Vino and now Pozzato.

Be careful or you're going to start getting a "reputation"......

    Sigh. No-one could replace Cav.

Just a boring morning at the end of a boring week of annual leave and I wanted a good giggle to forward to my girlfriends.

    Tuttobici have the story http://www.tuttobiciweb.it/index.php?pa ... 25435&tp=n
    but no photographs.

A lot of cyclists get modelling contracts. It's normal. I believe Pippo has done quite a lot of it previously.

Really? Apart from Hincapie and his own jeans company... Name three.

I couldn't name 3 male models, let alone 3 male cyclist models.
  • Former Swiss pro Steve Zampieri was also a part-time model.

About the thread, it's only an overlong article about Pippo published by Playboy magazine, edizione Italiana. The pictures are only designed to make him look sharp. Now that free porn's available all over the Internet, people actually buy Playboy for the articles y'know so in Italy, Playboy's a lot like GQ or Maxim these days, and tells its readers about the weird wild wonderful life of a young top cyclist who lives in Montecarlo and who is also a self-confessed womanizer. Fascinating stuff

Didn't Andreas Kloden do some eurotrash-suit photoshoots back in the early 00's when he was good?

Tony Bell "modelled" for some jazz-mag

    We only need one more.

As well as those mentioned above, you have Mario Cipollini, Cavendish, Pendleton, Di Luca, Cancellara, etc... There's loads that do it, including some lesser-known members of the peloton.

Matti Breschel was a model before he turned pro.

    Sharp?

He looks like a lobby pianist from the late '80s. Moss Bros are going to be angry when he returns their suit and they find a chainring mark on the back of the jacket

Absolutely. But then you have to realise that Playboy isn't really a sharp magazine either.

mmmm, yes, I would call it tackle as well.

Although generally the male of the species photographs better with their tackle obscured.

Boonen on the massage couch balancing a ball on his behind was interesting. Think it was the cheeky grin that did it though.

    Away to find a link..........

Don't confuse cyclists pictured in a magazine wearing civvies in an ad for some product as 'modelling'.

None of those people have actually modelled.

    That was my point.

Although hasn't the charming Miss Pendleton modelled for Oakley?

That would be 'endorsing' a product. A model is more of a nameless body that clothing is hung off of. So to speak.

You can do both - but basically if the only reason you are in an ad is because you are famous for something else besides modelling - then you're not really a model.
  • I saw Pozatto this morning cycling between Javea and Denia, gorgeous devil was sitting on the front of the team training ride.

Good day for team spotting as only 10 mins previously the Quickstep team were rolling into Denia with Boonen still resplendent in the Belgium championship jersey.

I think I'll pop along to their hotel in the morning with my camera to see if any of them are up for a bit of modelling.

Well, that was a fascinating few hours looking for the naked Tommeke-on-massage-couch photo.

Never found it, but I am stunned by what else I found. So many photographs of young, half naked male athletes out there.

Just as well I was on the lap-top and not the Manse computer.
  • I think you are refering to the following.

    boonen.jpg

There is one of Di Luca naked in an armchair if that is what you are after...

Yup, that's it FF! Thanks for the link. He's sooo cute.

Em, have you got the Di Luca link as well? May as well lower the tone of the thread altogether.

He'd want to get that hemorrhoid looked at. It can't be very comfortable on the cobbles.

There's quite a few of them. This is the only one I can find at the moment:
