Men who hit women = cowards

I work in Social Housing, all violence against Women is carried out by the lowest of the low. I have interviewed Women still nursing last nights bruises who have fled in the night with their Children and not much more than the Clothes on their backs.

I was in Court the other day getting a Possession Order against a Man who suffered Domestic Violence from his wife, he got an order keeping her away from the "marital home" which we had supplied to to them due to their becoming homeless previously. He moved out and Sub Let it :x

That's a tough one.

If a woman came up and laid the nut on you, I think you'd be reasonable to respond, just like if a bloke did it.

But I agree with Graeme_S mantra, don't hit people. Unfortunately it's the people who don't follow this that are the issue. And recently there's a bloody lot of them, especially in Boro. I'd rather not bother going out than risk the hassle. I actually stay up all night when my girlfriend goes out until she texts me saying she's back home just in case.

Just in case you have to bust some heads for looking at her?

you need to watch jeremy kyle for examples of women you wouldnt mess with. the army should recruit all these jobless tattooed single mums off council estates. i reckon the average roadie would struggle against one of these benefit brutes. on a serious note i once intervened whilst a bloke was punching the crap out of this woman only for the woman to turn on me it, it seems some women are conditioned to domestic violence and accept it. we live in sad times and society seems to be going down the plughole at an alarming rate.

Is a man a coward if he hits a woman in self defence. I was picking my sister-in-law up from the bar she worked in, in town one night. Outside a man and woman were arguing. The woman was in this guys face goading him to hit her. But he didn't rise to it. So she continued to poke this guy in the face, slap him and then scratched him across his face. Still he didn't hit her. Eventually she took off her high heel and stuck it in his head. Blood poored down this guys face and he still didn't hit her. My wife who was sat next to me in the car said "why doesn't he just smack her one, that'll soon stop her". I don't think there would of been many men that wouldn't of hit her back. I think he was well within the rules to drop that animal.

I agree that hitting anyone whether they are male or female should be avoided where possible.

This thread has reminded me of a girl that I used to train with who to look at was perfectly average but was a Black belt in about 4 different martials arts including Judo and Kung Foo.

We used to have fight nights at the club which was attended by approx 20 blokes and this one girl. After warm ups etc the rules were that the winner stayed up and fought the next person. Most of the time there was only 1 guy who could beat her and the rest of us just got our arse's kicked. I rememeber being massively impressed by her ability and also thinking, when the training was finished and we were all leaving in our civvies that there must have been a lot of guys who regretted annoying her on nights out.

Whilst ignoring other arabic countries, that generally doesn't happen in Syria.
Also I should point out that if that were to happen it would only be if you were committing adultery, and that they are brought up in a country where that is within a legal framework, in a (universal suffrage) democracy.

Be careful in immediately condemning an ancient society, due to them not conforming to the liberal permissive societies of the West.

There was a crowd gathering at the time and me thinks you're probably right. The thing is I thought he should've just chinned her once the blood started flowing. When she hit him with her shoe the rules of"never hit a girl" go out the window in my book. If she'd hit a copper like that, trust me, he/she would of put her on her backside.

I should clarify that I agree - people shouldnt hit anyone regardless of the gender. I have been swiped at by a woman many years back, I just stepped back, grabbed her hand and told her to behave whilst walking away. I dont think you have to thump her to let her know how yu feel about the situation.

I think aggressive women are very rare, usually flared by drink or drugs. What you see inside and outside the doors of clubs is not representative of the whole of the UK.

I still stand by what i said - if you hit a woman you're a coward. Men are generally stronger and bigger.

i am with those who say never hit anyone, theres no reason to, what does it ever sort out? nothing luckily i have never been involved in a fight, once some guy punched two of my mates for no reason, we all ran and in hindsight that was the best thing to do, there was one of him and about 6/7 of us we could have owned his ass but then we would have probably either faced assult charges or had our heads kicked in a week later

Generally I think that men who hit women are cowards, but the self defence issue makes this a moot point.

I got into a bit of hassle (20 years ago) when a guy started on me for no reason - not a problem, but then his girlfriend dug her 3 inch nails in my throat and laid into my like a pshyco, luckily my lady arrived at the scene at it was sorted out fairly quickly.

I'd never cross Mrs Benno after that performance.

that kinda backs up my point, there use violence and get a night in the cells, but surely your not 'meant' to hit them, is that not what cs spray and tazers are used for, allthough i am sure they deserve it if they are in the situation where they are getting arrested and then resisting arrest

The law allows you to use reasonable force. Depending on the circumstances, that could be a push, punch, headbutt, baton to the head...the list goes on. The force has to be justifiable, proportionate, legal, accountable and necessary. I don't carry a Taser. CS does not work on 20% of people, but it sure as hell works on me. 1 in 5 chance that my intended recipient will be unaffected but I will. Not appropriate in crowds or enclosed spaces.

If I have to punch, I'll punch. Too many people judge based on having no experience or knowledge. As NapD says, we have partners/children we want to go home to. I'm not a punch bag in a uniform. If it's me or you that's going to get hurt, I'll choose you.
