 If you have a few years to spare head over to the Silly Commuter Racing thread and have a read through. You should get the jist from the first page but will miss the essence of The Great Unspoken Game without reading all 807 pages ;-)0 -

I should get an award for getting these overshoes on, built up more of a sweat pulling these on than I did early on my turbo.

It was a toughone for me between Lit and Bass.
Lit because despite being made redundant she regaled us with tales of scalping on the way to interview/picking up bread etc.
But BJUK has to get it for enthusiasm and commitment to the game.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

GB155 for the sheer amount of willpower it must have taken in those early days when he was 39 stone. His story has inpired countless others and he has literally turned his life around just by jumping on a bike. It's amazing what can be achieved with lots of willpower, sweat and a bike.0

Bassjunkie should win.
I'm going on protest.
Annoucement:
The roads of South London are once again safe for cyclists to commute on and not need to look over their shoulder ever 10yards. DDD will not be SCRing in protest of the 2009 SCR awards.Food Chain number = 4

Welcome, MM . What's your route?
Stockwell to Canary Wharf.
I was just told by one of my (very competitive in everything) colleagues that a friend of him cycles, on a mountain bike, from Croydon to Canary Wharf in half hour. I told him he's lying. Can that be done, stopping at lights and staying off the pavements?
My journey takes me 40-45 mins. There are sections of my route that I just can't go as fast as I would like to.0 -

Unless he's got an engine or found a wormhole somewhere I doubt it! I have a site I work at that's on Westferry Circus and I come in from South Norwood which isn't a stones throw from Croydon and I cover the 12.5 miles in jut shy of an hour, what with all the traffic lights normally averaging between 15-17mph depending on how I'm feeling.
I'd be interested to know his route as I admit I probably don't take the most direct one, going via Dulwich and toward Camberwell before hanging a right down the side of that park (forgotten name!) to take Albany Road and then snaking my across to Tower Bridge before heading down The Highway :-)0 -

Why don't you follow me. We can all express our individuality by flocking together in a meaningless protest.
We'll show ITB. Who does he think he is. Telling us what to think and who to like.
