I've been rubbish for cycling lately but I have so much to do; PGCE Secondary Physics interview tomorrow, eeeeeeek  (where's the pukey smiley?)

Keep everything crossed for me (well, not if you're riding, the crossbar will have to do then) from about 1pm tomorrow...

  • Is that for an interview for a place on the course or do you start tomorrow? I work at a Uni looking after PGCE trainees. Good luck with it either way :D

    Good luck SJ :D

Calm down, all will be well. A few of my friends did PGCE physics and they're still teaching after a good few years. Enjoy :)

  • Try to stay calm and you'll do fine. Remember, nobody gives interviews for fun. If they've invited you in, they actually want to give you the job. All you have to do is not prove otherwise. :D

Red, I reckon you did the right thing.

But seems that Sara is very determined to do it and if she finds a fine school she might even enjoy! So good luck with the exam!

Blimey, don't call it an exam :P

I think, that if you want education to get any better in this country, it's not worth trying to put off those willing to get into it! But a little luck does indeed not go amiss ;)

    Good luck!

I've considered going back down the teaching path (I dropped out of my B.Ed. 20 years ago), but I can't afford it. =)

  • Physics PGCE. To become a teacher. Of teenagers.

    Mmm.

I advise that you flunk the sanity test at the interview - they will never let you in if they suspect that you are of sound mind.

Definitely gone on 22nd (should be in Sweden by the evening).... 15th is a possibility....! If Tues is preferred?

    Thanks all... Whew. All over.

I think I did the best I could do, given that interviewers had forgotten the details of the task they set us, over-analysed the only-3-minute presentations so that we ran on by about 2-3 extra hours, and then only gave us a ~10 minute individual interview.

I feel cheated, tbh! Will have to just wait and see what their decision is.

    That was quick!

I assume this is an offer - but it's only off the tracking system, might wait for the letter before I reply:
The status of your GTTR application has changed and you can view what has changed on the GTTR website www.gttr.ac.uk. If you have received an offer, you should reply as soon as possible.
So of course I went to check, and:

  • Nice one!

Although, regarding the unconditional nature of the offer, are there entry exams for this? Harsh!

Nah, I just think that sometimes people come straight out of uni and interview for PGCE before they graduate - so for them it might be dependent on degree class - but I've been graduated 3 years now....

    All good, though :D
