I like the middle picture, but can't work out the top and bottom pictures. Are they some sort of early attempt at road bikes ?

Sicknote: Answered this earlier, take a look back. Maybe weird was too strong. Unusual, different, not the norm then...This is what gives some people their "greatness."

  • if Paxman was actually grilling Sting on a large george foreman type grill i would deffo tune in to watch that. robbie williams on a rottisserie would be my second choice

Lovely inclusion of a dedicated decorating chair. Solid, domestic and grounded. Smashing.

Yep, I disappointed - when I read the thread title I thought someone was going to stick a skewer up his backside and grill him over an open flame on live TV. Obviously they would have had to use firewood from a sustainable source though.

I hate all sanctimonious pop stars / actors etc. who go on about the environment and poverty. The only one who grates more than Sting though is Bono, going on about poverty and then sends his jet across the Irish Sea to fly Lance Armstrong off to a party. How many meals for starving people would that have paid for?
  • And Bono avoided paying tax in Ireland while preaching about poverty. Desirable though flame-grilling these posturing pontificating pop parasites might be, it would merely add to their already enormous carbon footprint. Combustion of Bono's ego alone would create more green house gases than a typical coal-fired power station produces in a year. Like nuclear waste, the only sensible option will be to store Bono, Sting and Geldof deep underground for the next 10,000 years, by which time they should be fairly harmless.

    When I saw Bob

Oh, that would have been the spliffs I guess

You've seen Bob live though, I'm envious of that.

Saw the Wailers recently, excellent - if you get the chance.....

Don't mind Geldof so much, I feel he is far more genuine. At the time of Band Aid he was bankrupt or near to it IIRC and the awareness he gave to the cause made a real difference. Unfortunately the likes of Sting and Bonio saw the publicity he gained and jumped on the band wagon.
