    I like lists!

    1. I have two and a half weeks of work till I have two weeks off
    2. I have curtains
    3. And an allotment
    4. I have two wonderful children
    5. I have people in my life who love me
    6. I have a house which I can afford
    7. I have money left in my bank account every month to treat myself if I wish
    8. I love my job
    9. I have great neighbours
    10. I live opposite a park
    11. I know how to ride a bike (even if I am having a bit of a rest)
    Emerging from under a big black cloud. All help welcome

      1 I'm alive 2 No visitors at mine, finally :D 3 Christmas parties/lunches/drinks 4 The heating works 5 The joys of cycling even in the cold/rain 6 I'll attempt to swop bank accounts with Linsen for two months :wink: 7 Chicken wrap with wedgies on Wednesdays. Yum! 8 I actually like cross-country running :shock:
  • Today's reasons to be cheerful:

    1. I've upgraded the RAM in 2 of my computers and haven't broken either of them
    2. A certain someone is back from Cyprus today
    3. It's sunny
    4. I got my brother to the airport in good time for his flight so he could relax
    5. I've started my christmas shopping
    6. I had a nap and don't feel totally spaced out any more.

    I've thought of some more.

    11. I've got a roof over my head and food to eat
    12. My debts are at least steady, mostly reducing (Christmas shopping excepted)
    13. It's past the half-way point of the week!
    14. I might feel trapped by commitments a lot of the time but compared to a lot of people in the world I've got freedom. I love it.
    15. I can ride a bike
    16. I can fix a bike :D
    17. I'm off work next week (have I mentioned this already :D )
    18. The boss is off this week, and so am I next week... no boss for 2 weeks!
    19. I'm happy :D

    I'm assembling my own bike for the first time, and I haven't broken anything yet.

    '09 Enigma Eclipse with SRAM.
    '10 Tifosi CK7 Audax Classic with assorted bits for the wet weather
    '08 Boardman Hybrid Comp for the very wet weather.

    My children are all now better from a stomach bug and are at the pantomime tonight.

    I've had a surprise migraine all day and when the Immigran finally kicked in a good brisk walk with the dogs has finally cleared it .

    My bike is clean and the house isn't too bad.

    I'm looking forward to the Mrs coming home soom.

    Bolognaise for Tea (simmering away nicely now).

    I've got all of my christmas shopping done

    I've got no money left till payday on 15th but I don't care. bikes and family are free.

    I am off on a work trip to Budapest where I am expected to treat a bunch of semi-alcoholic Eastern European colleagues to a slap up dinner and drinks tomorrow night then sit through a serious board meeting with them on Friday :P

    In spite of the prognosis there is every chance my dad could see another christmas

    In spite of the havoc caused by the arrival of twins my marriage is stronger than before

    In spite of the recession our family finances are in good shape

    In spite of the influence of older kids, my kids still believe in Santa Claus

    I'm healthy.
    My folks are (reasonably) healthy.
    I am enjoying my job.
    I have 2 bikes that I love.
    I got a smile from that cute lass who jogs around Regents Park in the mornings.

    I'm healthy & slowly getting fitter.
    My family is healthy
    I'm going to be a Dad for the first time in March!
    I've been able to feel the baby kicking for the last couple of weeks.
    It's Christmas soon = week off work.
    The house is getting decorated (all be it quite slowly)
    I have a job which I enjoy and which is going well.

    Oh, and this topic title currently says
    Reasons to be cheerful. 1, 2, 3 !
    (unless I just stared a 4th page, then I apologise for ruining it)

    Er.... no, not this year, but it's smaller (more my size :roll: ) and it's lighter so carrying it up 4 flights should be a breeze AND IT'S NEW :D (I like new) :D

    So did u get the bike???????????

    I tested a boardman hybrid pro ltd today, it was lush, smooth like butter and very responsive.

    will be ordering a comp in a week or so :)

    Reasons to be cheerful - my landlord has just dropped off a crate of beers as a christmas present :D
