He is only cool for managing to maintain a comedy career despite an utter lack of comedic ability.'nulla tenaci invia est via'

Lenny Henry isn't cool for his comedy, he's cool for accepting the challenge of playing Othello, despite a lifelong hatred of the Bard, and doing it with a real commitment and well enough to win a "best newcomer" award on the London stage.0

I agree I own records by each of these (including Keith Moon's solo album which could not have been made by a truly cool person) - all talented - but all totally uncool imo.0 -

Life is acting - if you can act cool all the time, then you're cool
Also Tom Waits - he's acting too, but who cares?0 -

Funnily enough I have met both Christopher Walken and Steve Buscemi.
I met Walken on a flight back from the Philippines. We landed in Frankfurt and had been flying for something like 18hrs at that point. He came from the curly stairs up from first class and I came from the smegs at the back of the plane. We both made a beeline for the open door and stood on the top of the little flight of stairs to grab some fresh air. We had about five mins exchanging pleasantries in a detached jet lagged manner while I could not stop thinking of the final scene of the deer hunter until some officious german policeman made us go back inside the plane. Walken was most definitely cool.
I sometimes wonder if he looks back on those five minutes in 1994 just as affectionately probably thinking "sheesh that shoulder guy was cool"....
I met Buscemi at a film Premiere in NYC. It was not a coincidence and I was introduced to him by a fellow acTOR. I was able to have a longish chat to him over a few drinks about his films, he looked faintly bored throughout. He was also quite cool - quite shy really. He also probably looks back and thinks "sheesh that shoulder guy was cool"....0 -
Serge Gainsbourg ( less for this http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x19p5d_gainsbourg-houston-i-want-to-f-her_music than for a lot of other stuff but it raises a chuckle...)
Michael Holding
Julian Cope
Bode Miller (apart fom his caravan habit)

Ack. God. Another anecdote. Sorry.
My mum met Paul Newman at a Party in Connecticut. As an opening gambit she said " I like the pasta sauce but the salad dressing is a bit sweet for my taste". Apparently, he said something along the lines of "everyone always want to talk about movies" and they ended up chatting all night.
Someone say that Stanley Kubrick is cool - go on I dare you.0 -

Oh come on - no-one is just an actor. They are human beings too. Anyway - I think we've had positive verification that both those actors are cool in real life...as I always suspected from hearing them speak, and watching their work.
Buscemi is also a director and writer; Tom Waits is a musician.0 -
Also - Tom Baker is supercool.0
