Would cycling as a group help with this wind? Didn't cycle today, but if anyone is doing a Farringdon to Streatham type route tomorrow night, please let me know!

    Wind's been annoying me too.

Am I imagining it or has 2009 (thus far) been quite a windy year? Looking back I can only remember a handful of days when my commute hasn't been affected by wind and I'm sure 2008 wasn't as bad.

I've had a lazy, lazy week.

I'm blaming the wind, but really I'm just lazy.

However the idea of being blown under a set of wheels with something big and heavy on top is frightening.

Nah you're safe; DDD only rides in London...

This post makes me think of dominoes. One down, all down....

IT's really been getting me down the last couple of weeks. I've seriously considered getting the train, but that would cost more money and I'd be even more tired at work so I've stuck with it, this morning I passed the time daydreaming about commuting in summer mmmmmmmm :?

Same here. No problem with headwinds, they are a pain, but not dangeours. It's sidewinds that worry me. Had a few nasty experiences while crossing the Thames. It's on the bridges that you are most unprotected. Took the train the past 2 days, but cycled in today, with tailwinds. Will pay for this later! 8)

This morning was bizarre. It was a bit windy, but not as bad as it has been recently, and dry. I rode to work, rode down to the underground carpark, parked my bike, and walked back up to the outside world. It was lashing down and blowing a gale.

Now I know British weather is changeable but this was a bit extreme!
  • The wind had calmed down a bit tonight I think, still got me a little on the coast road but calmer in the valley. The rain was falling like frozen stair rods for 10 minutes though.

Feels good finally home, showered & with a big cheesy baked spud inside me.

I am confident it is going to be calm tomorrow!..
  • OK, here's some news to cheer us all up. Its from the Met Office, so its bound to be true.

Next summer is going to be the hottest ever. In the whole history of hot summers. Possibly even warmer than this year's BBQ summer.

    You've been (globally) warmed.

Awesome! Hot summers and cold winters... I like the way this climate's going...

'twas a tad breezy this evening though. Less of that please.

AAAAHHHH I've fought against the rain for the last 27 days everyday rain and now a gale in my face, I've had enough :( So I've decided I'm going to remain grumpy today and to cheer myself up pop into Evans and Wheelbase on the way home and buy something.

May I interest you in my "Silly commuting Rain stats" thread?

You sound as if you would "win".
