My new training plan

After reading all the latest threads on here I've decided on a new training plan.
I'm going to aim to peak for a sportive in June which even though it's not a race, I'm going to aim to win it. This will probably mean I'll then turn pro.
I'm going to train on the bike for just one hour a week as the consensus seems to be that rest is very important. This hour will be spent going as slow as I possibly can on my 28x28 geared fixed wheel bike 'cause we all know fixed is the best way to train. Cadence will be in the high 100's. I'll spend at least 4 hours doing weights and of course doing CORE work.
I've bought some good dvds to watch whilst I sit on the turbo and contemplate how I could improve by doing even less training, This sort of brain power will need the biggest possible fan, so I'll probably invest in an aeroplane propeller which I'll be able to use to make a wind tunnel in the summer.
In April I'll up the bike time to two hours, I'm a bit afraid I'll peak too early though.
Food of choice will obviously be bananas.
Feel free to offer up any other nuggets that I've missed.

No no no... you need a power meter!
Can't afford it? Selling your bike should cover that.0 -
I've got a power meter but it's of no use tbh. I'm probably going to sell it and get some free weight and a few Swiss balls.0

They do say teachers are an odd breed!0

I recommend a unicycle for this training program.Bald is Beautiful0

Get yourself a carbon fibre turbo trainer. It's lighter which will make the intervals easier and the ride quality will be a lot smoother0

You forgot to put the trainer on an incline to simulate climbing.0

Training? No need to do it. My wife makes me do all the housework so I'm already beefed up and I get plenty of miles in on my daily commute. I did once try training for a couple of weeks in the past and it didnt work because of my genes. Anyway what's the point? Once I put on my team Astana kit I look like a real pro (though wish they would make the shorts in size XXXL)Martin S. Newbury RC0

Like the sound of it but you need to build a period of complete rest into your programme and spend this down time peeling beetroot ready to put in the juicer. This should improve your performance significantly.0

I would suggest a lot of downloaded internet porn, how can that possibly not help?0

You need to follow the tabata methodoligy to get the best bang for your bucks.
So 20 sec of complete rest followed by 10 sec of general rest repeated for 8 times. It's really intense resting so make sure you have a 10min snooze before and after to warm up and to ease down.
Once per week with plenty of rest and refuelling between sessions.
If you get bored of this then there are some fartlek resting sessions I've got somewhere, I'll look them out and post later............0 -
You need a good drink when on your training rides, I've heard Shell V-Power is good.0
