I thought you had a wife and kids aren't they supportive enough?

I've been looking for a new one too as mine is just not powerful enough, or maybe it's just better to have two.
Looking at this one at the minute, £58 for an 18" fan

I use a 20" fan similar to one of these http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cl-cdf20hvb-20-fan/path/home--office-electric-fans.
There are also a couple of pedestal mounted ones available from that site (including a 25" model!) if that's what you're after.
The one I've got came from Argos 3 or so years ago.
It shifts loads of air and keeps me pretty cool on the rollers.I’m a sprinter – I warmed up yesterday.0 -
As you are in the UK this one is good enough to keep you cool and stop sweat dripping off you even in warm rooms, lasts forever too. Requires 230V supply.

The next two seem to be OK though I have no experience with them.

Don't skimp and end up going for a cheap fan.0 -

Looks good, thanks for the link. I'm currently using this one:

A bargain at £20 but only 16" and 50 Watts. It does the job though, but I do still overheat a bit on hard intervals so might get the one above.Le Blaireau (1)0 -
There's a 16" Standing Fan for £25 on the maplins website0

I have this:

however as DaveyL says that Clarke does look like a bargain. Cheaper than mine and 2" bigger blades.0 -

Think about it - go for an endurance ride and we have a 30km/h breeze cooling our entire body vs sitting on a trainer with some piddly little domestic fan....0 -
Another one here with the Honeywell HV1800E fan, I only ever use it on level 1 of the the 3 available, as it makes my nose and eyes run even then.
Screwfix have them for £49 - http://www.screwfix.com/prods/67554/Heating-Cooling/Air-Treatment/Honeywell-High-Velocity-Free-Standing-18-FanComplicating matters since 19650 -

If your turbo is in a garage I think you can get away with a less powerful fan. I have two 16" pedestal fans that I got from BandQ for a tenner each and now find I only need one (where as earlier in the year I'd have one to the front and one behind).More problems but still living....0
