Good morning, :D

Not usually worried about getting wet muddy and cold, par for the course in the Lakes. However today I'm not really feeling up for it so I need some words of wisdom from someone to give me a boot up my arse so I get out.

cheers

Neil

"Reverse psychology is a persuasion technique involving the advocacy of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion to do what is desired"

As I said I am heading down to Kirroughtree to test out the new parts that I added to my Old Trek 4500 HT.. nowt like a blast round the trails on the bike on a crisp winters morning to blow away the old cobwebs and set you up for the rest of the day...... You have fun now..Y'hear :D

Easy solution drive down here where it's sunny problem solved. ;)
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

see you did have a good day, I had a blast also, weather was dry and sunny, had a few speed wobbles on parts of the trails, had a pinch flat, had a few swear words, had an adrenaline rush on a rock garden that had been my "Nemesis" but I nailed it today, but most important of all... I was out having fun 8) 8)

glad to hear the Sun came out for you...

Rode from home later in the afternoon. Jeez it's quiet on a Sunday in November when the weather is eversoslightly dodgy. Apricots and fig rolls on the way to Follow The Dog, did a lap without really thinking about it. Wandered over the North End and slip-skidded down a few favourite bits. Switched the lights on and did another loop around Sherbrook. Headed back home around 7-ish. :D

You could spend the time shouting "IT'S SPELT POURING" and benefit from the exercise AND learn how to spell a basic English word?

Got out plenty thanks. Just handing out some useful educational advice. "Pooring" is a very large error - the correct letter is two keys away from the wrong one so not even a typo.

    Thanks for asking though...

I haven’t done to badly in life so far so I'm not to worried. :)

Well have fun getting CVs accepted then.

There are typos and there are utter c0ck ups - that was one of them.

And I did it for free too.

Depends. I was told I was being "harsh" on a different forum for pointing out a spelling mistake on someone's band's promotional blurb. They were claiming to possess raper wit. Slightly different to rapier wit, which is what I assume they meant.

The singletrack to hell is rutted with good intentions, or sumpfink.

Now that is a comedy typo!:lol:

Like when typing out a county name ending in "shire" - that "r" is dangerously close to the "t" key. The amount of times I've nearly typed out "Derbyshite" or "Gloucestershite..." is worrying...

Sometimes its not what you say but how you say it

And if I was writing a CV or writing promotional blurb I'd take more care, but this is a bike forum.
  • I think this grammer/spelling problem arises out of text talk, the sort of short hand jargon that you receive on the mobile.
Some times people forget the correct spelling or pronunciation of words.

I wish I was young enough to give this excuse, the truth is I'm really am rubbish at spelling, however does it matter? I've done pretty well so far in life :) I just didn't expect to go on a bike forum and be critiquied.
