Surely the rubber of the tyre is a bit heavy? I have been planning to make one out of part of a 3 litre milk bottle...0 -
I had my first ride with the 'bender fender' this week. It does a good job, combined with a crud catcher the front end of my bike was quite clean at the end of the ride. I had maybe half a dozen small spots of mud/water on my face at the end of a fast and very wet ride. Without this mud guard I'd have been covered! If it was an inch longer it may be a bit more effective... where have I heard that before!!!?
I like the styling on the bike, its not even obvious its there at all and it does protect your head set from sludge which is a real bonus. Also it weighs almost nothing for those who watch the grammes. For £7 its probably not even worth the hastle of making your own, you'd easy spend an hour messing about trying to get it right.
As for the fitting, its a 2 minute job (on the PIKES at least). Not even bothered with any cable ties, just strapped it to the forks on the sides, slide it up and strap it tight to the fork crown, job done!
I give it a thumbs up.0 -

I bought one last week and after a full week of scottish rain it works really well for protecting forks and face . For £7 you can go wrong took about 5 minutes to fit to my Marzocchi 44's although had to use a couple of cable ties.0
