  • Only yesterday I said to Mrs Tank "Put ya coat on duck".

"Oh, are we going out?" she asked.

"No, WE aren't, but I'm goin' ta the pub and I'm turning the fire off".

Seriously though Pneumatic summed it up in his post.

They put it on. I put it off.

They open doors. I close them.

They leave the lights on. I turn them off.

They buy the food. I throw it out uneaten.

They empty the bank account. I fill it up.

Oh the happy life of a family man!!

I just soooooo recognise myself in that post.

Yep - Passout Towers has to be heated in order to preserve the tapestries and other fine works of art (& keep the kids warm).

  • Install a programmable thermostat, ours automatically kicks up the target temperature before we get up, and just before we get back. And never forgets to turn the temperature down when we go off to work or overnight.

Ours is a "Digistat 3", from B & Q. Not usually found on the shelves, you have to ask for it at the info counter :?
  • I was thinking of putting up a thread asking what temperature people set their rheostats to.

Rheostats, now you're showing my age. 16C. What are you people going to do when winter comes?

New baby means the heating has been at a constant 18 degrees since two weeks ago.

Not looking forward to my next gas bill :(
