Had a go at this last night - 2m30sec at 85% FTP/30sec of 115% FTP repeated with no breaks for an hour with a 10min warm-up and warm-down.
Still a bit wobbly 15 hours later. A once a week session I fancy

"Hour of Power"
Will someone please explain - preferably in simple terms - based on feel / % effort (I don't like using an HRM)
What is this?
What is it good for?

Thank you for the link - I must learn to do stuff like search.
Sounds deliciously unpleasant.
Methinks this will be a good way of passing an hours ride home once a week.0 -
I might be forced inside soon as 'here comes the rain' as the Beatles once didn't sing.
When I do go in, I want to work on something different to what I normally do. Now given I live in quite hilly territory will this hop just really be more of the same for me? It seems like it simulates a flat-uphill-downhill ride which I get all the time anyway.0 -

Nearly....except there's no downhill part
More of an uphill, up steep hill, uphill kind of vibe.......
But you're right, it will mirror a ride but squeezes in more in less time because there's no decending or backing off. I think most turbo sessions are a bit like that as most find being on them tedious.0 -
There's a new sufferfest video at http://www.thesufferfest.com coming out this weekend that should be an hour long...
Different to HOP but love the previous vids, something different to pass those miserable hours in the garage! I'll get and and let you know what it's like.
Need to try the HOP too, probably do it for my threshold workout next week.0
