A pretty good write up on the sometimes confusing topic of "threshold" which is an ambiguous term that quite literally often means different things to different people.
If not already comfortable with stuff in this then now good time to get head round it, since understanding is useful for planning training *, (alternatively as per previous post another reason to consider using a coach and save your energy for cycling)
* as a specific the first section on AeT explains why for "base" training its not the number miles that you do but the number of miles at a consistent and right intensity that you ride that's most important.
