Cycle Coaches

I am after a cycling coach, (rather than relying on Friel's Bible et al), to get me from reasonably fit fitness rider, to as good a TT/hillclimb rider as I can be - with only 7 to 8 hours riding per week to work with!
There are loads of sites for different coaching providers, a number of whom seem to have conflicting approaches, but has anyone had any personal experience of individual coaches they are willing to recommend?
Ideally (but not necessarily) in the midlands (east) would be good. I don't need/can't afford the high cost monthly, daily feedback level of coaching etc. I live in the real world of busy work and family life which needs to be accommodated in any training plans. Coaches who are interested in elite athletes with nothing else to do but train, probably won't fit the bill.
Your views will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Have a word with my coach, John Capelin to see what he can do for you.
This is the 4th year that I have worked with him - working with John I've gone from reasonably average to winning races and championships on the track. I have similar time and commitment constraints so he will work with you on that if you are prepared to put in the effort.
Contact John through his site - http://www.sports-coaching.com.I’m a sprinter – I warmed up yesterday.0 -
I would recommend Ruth Eyles. She's based in Warwckshire - so next door to the East Midlands. She has helped me progress considerably. She knows her stuff and how to convey it.

Isn't she a regular on here too (Beacon Ruth)? Regular TT winner so could be just what you need!0 -
Thanks to you all.
For the reasons you both mention (Pross and peterdelves), Ruth was actually my first choice.
Unfortunately for me (but excellent news for Ruth), it seems she is first choice for a large number of others, hence a predicted waiting list to March/April '10.
I really should have thought about this in the summer, so it's a problem of my own making. Doh! I am pleased for Ruth though, because as I have said on this forum before, Ruth is a credit to the Forum, always willing to help if she can, and seems a genuinely nice person, so good luck to her!

"Genuinely nice person"? Well, that makes two of you who think the same - you and my mum.
No, seriously, thank you for the kind comments in this thread - they mean a lot to me.

Credit where it's due Ruth. In world where people are often not terribly pleasant, it makes the nice ones stand out. And it kind of restores faith in humankind - for a while at least!
Best wishes.
