There's no way I would hand over personal details, address, employer etc to some random jumped up security guard at CW. If they stopped, I'd listen to what they had to say, but I very much doubt they have any power other than to escort you from private property and if they have no idea who you are, your address or your employer then there's bugger all they can do.

OK, here's the answer by email:

My name is (withheld by request) and I am the Deputy Estate Security Manager. Many thanks for your e-mail, its good to see that some cyclists find jumping red lights dangerous. To clarify, my staff are stopping cyclists who jump red traffic lights (and cycle on the pavement), to request that they refrain from this practice. My staff, where possible, are taking the name of the person who they are stopping, as a record of the event, and also to follow-up if the person continues to jump the red lights.

    Regards

So, despite my speculation earlier, they are not ticketing people, just operating in what appears to be a polite, professional and reasonable way.

FCN 3 at the weekend - struggling to do it justice!

Thanks for that unscarred, certainly have no objection to their activity as described (although as noted above, they have no powers to force someone to name themselves), and would encourage them.

As a ped the other day I was nearly hit by an RLJ cyclist (who ended up shedding some red wine in the process) and have no problem with them reminding people of the 'rules'.
