Benchmark tests

I've bought a power turbo trainer for use in the coming season and would like to do some benchmark testing in the next week or so to compare against in the coming months.

Does anyone have any useful tests to use?

I'll add that to the shopping list. I have the Friel book on training that I've used to devise my training plan for the next year but have mislaid it so any tips between now and buying this other book would be great.

Thanks for that Alex. I just did the test and did my +25watts per minute increase until I conked out. I used a Tacx turbo so I don't think I have any means of downloading the ride data to a computer to analyse. Is there a manual way of doing it?
