Sure it has been covered, but I couldn't find a poll.

I'm on the verge of doing it, the only thing slightly putting me off is the abuse I will receive from mates etc etc.

If you don't, what are your thoughts on the topic?

If you do, what is best to use? (I can't imagine it being much of a chore, but the amount of girls I come across with stubbly legs makes me believe it must be...)

Ees somthing to do in Summer to make calves look defined and sexy for pull eenglish girl, not in winter when not wear shorts.

I suggest you stop hanging round with stubbly munters.

Perhaps real question should be where is you stopping shave" The Calves prefer pornstar look.

The only ones who should have bare legs are, people with no gonads, and those with alopecia! It's just not natural.

    Shaving:-

More aerodynamic - doubtful and certainly not in my case
Quicker healing after a crash - I can see the benefits there but one off in 20 years tells me it is more effort than it's worth.
Looks; I think men should be au naturel, not for me.

    Anything else to consider?

    Not for me.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Easier to massage - only applicable to pro's?
Look like a pro - No1 reason surely?

re: road rash - I've never had it on my calf/shin; had it on knees, elbows, hips & bum, where do you stop shaving?

I need all the insulation I can get, especially over winter!
    Hairy & proud!

    +1 on stubbly munters

  • Don't be a pussy Kieran, just do it! I reckon the only reason you're not sure about it is because you know you're legs will look rubbish next to mine...:lol:
  • The real disadvantage to shaving is in deciding where to stop.

Personally I find that "up to the belly button" works for me...

Damn, hadn't thought of this! I currently shave/trim the nether regions. But completely off! That will take some thinking. !!!!!

The simple reason is that roadies shave their legs because other roadies shave their legs: it's a "one of the gang" thing.

Surely, ahem, 'below the belly button' causes itching?

I once tried to tidy things up before a 'sure thing' type of date (not a prostitute or anything. We'd just been getting on very well at Uni) but got a little carried away with the razor. Anyhoo, after a couple of weeks my nethers were itchy as hell and I don't think the young lady in question was to blame. It was re-growth. Do you just have to keep shaving on a weekly bais?

You don't have to shave, wax or Veet type creams are 2 perfectly good options; if you gunna do it wax will last longer and you won't get stubble like velcro when you wear jeans.
I know a pro triathlete chap who uses wax or cream to remove hair, never shaves.

If you want to do it, do it; in the nicest possible way s*d what others think, including your mates, it's not as if your chasing their legs with your Gillette Mac 3 ;)
  • waxing is better than shaving-

Quite so. THere are 2 reasons roadies shave their legs. The first is identified above, the 2nd is that Lycra shorts and hairy legs look silly. The reason the practice started was at a sponsor's insistence, i believe.

As for the method, I'm a disposable razor man. I once went to a beauticians and asked them to wax my legs but they refused claiming "We aren't that sort of establishment"

Error. No need my young acquaintance, it's too late to back out by the time she's exposed to that!

I use Veet or Nair,. Doesn't last as long as waxing but I get really bad ingrowing hairs.

Go as far as my arse and top of my thighs, that's where the hair stops anyway.

Garden gets a trim every couple of weeks.

Shaved legs shows your allegiance to the sport I'm told.

My missus wasn't keen at first but after they tan in summer she likes the muscle definition it shows off.

The question is where do you stop?

See some porn guys with no hair whatsoever how the fuck do you do that? Lot of shaving or wax?
  • Gazzaputt wrote:

Shave all the legs, use a body trimmer on the rest.

I admit I only do it so everyone can see my muscles. Not ashamed.

For my knackers sake, no

As for the pro look, my belly negates that ever happening

Will be again next summer providing my legs are lean and toned by then and have seen some sun. Lycra and hair don't mix. You have to shave your thighs too or you will have the mick taken

I've always used a razor (or several for the first shave of the season!) but my top tip is never do it the day before an early season race as sports balm and shaving nicks don't go too well together!!
  • Not very hairy anyway (my legs) so waxing would be pointless.

You don't need to do it in winter. Who's going to see them?
