Not necessarily the best race, or the best rider, but you know... a single moment of drama that got you jumping out of your seat and cheering / jeering at the TV.

When Cancellara kept his yellow jersey for a few fractions of a second, the high point of a week of madness in the Tour de France.

Well I voted for Evans winning, with no sarcasm - I was glad to see him finally get a big win. (Although I didn't see a few of them live - like Milan-San Remo - so didn't consider them)

I'd also add (all from Le Tour):

Cav winning in Paris with only Renshaw anywhere near him.

Wiggins trying a little attack near the top of the climb to Andorra

That clip of Cancellara descending on his own in the Yellow Jersey.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I run out of room on my poll though :!:

    I think this takes some beating (and counters Iain's argument that bunch sprints are dull);

There are more. Off the top of my head:

    - Watching Rabobank suddenly strip off the raincapes and shred Paris-Nice was quite special.
    - Wiggins sticking it to the others on the way to Verbier
    - Contador's move on Verbier
    - Armstrong being carted into an ambulance

That's the thing with cycling, the terrain and variety of races can create so many moments of drama, although a seven hour race can usually be edited into a 7 minute highlight package.

Best race moment for me probably the attack by Andy Schleck on roche aux falcons to win LBL he caught up with Gilbert had a quick look and then left Gilbert for dead almost immediately and blasted on to the finish........brilliant bit of riding.

Honourable mention Cancellara walking down the Koppenburg with his bike over his shoulder and his chain in his hand..........something thats probably happened to most in here.
Gasping - but somehow still alive !

+1 for Evans' WC winning ATTACK! (With no sarcasm.)

Was also very happy to see HH's TdF breakaway succeed. (Also, though I admire Cav's dominance, I have to admit I was a bit gutted by the MSR result.)

Although I love Cav, and wanted him to get the green - that stage with Hushovd's solo breakaway, up the hills, and mopping up all the intermediate sprints to extend his lead was a thing of awesomeness....

Apart from some om the moments mentioned above, and the Milan-San Remo sprint and Andy Schleck's charge in LBL definetely count, also special were:
    - the three-man Rabobank break at the Omloop het Volk/Nieuwsblad
    - Gilbert's four in a row.

    A tie:

    1. Contador riding away against team orders
    2. Lance getting in the split from the wind/Columbia that was caused by Contador
    3. Cadel Evans winning Worlds

Cav coming home first in Paris.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • Evans winning the worlds
    then hushovd crashing
then wiggins heroics in just clinging on to 4th on ventoux

I voted for Thor's crash in Paris-Roubaix, btw. There a clip here with Norwegian commentary... their reaction is hilarious:

I've got to go for Cav's Milan-San Remo victory.

The picture of his lunge for the line has been my background on the works computer for the past 6 months.
    Winner: PTP Vuelta 2007

Closely followed by seeing Paris-Roubaix,in the flesh, april this year :D
    so many cols,so little time!
  • Hop Cavendish, hop cavendish, hop Cavendish, hop fotofinish....

Thor Hushovd, Is Wonderful, And Cavendish is smelly fish.

    That's bollocks JC.

I think that's Bradley Wiggins attacking, and if it is it's a great piece of riding.

    Oh Phil a flamingo.

My favourite moment? The last five minuted when I went through all the highlights of the last year and realised it's only 10 weeks until the fun starts all over again

    Cavendish's win in MSR
Cancellara's legendary descent after stopping for a new wheel and a wee.
  • Hushovd's Alpine attack, replete with grabbing his green jersey yelling "i'm taking this to Paris!!"

    Old school.

Cancellaras dominance in the World's TT followed by Cav on the Champs - the first stage where another team tried to disrupt the Columbia train and he won, almost literally, by a street!

    Erm....

Toni Colom's excellent performance in Paris-Nice

Di Luca's brilliant never-say-die attitutude in the Giro

Astarloza finally winning a road race after so many years of trying

    Jus' kidding.

    Evans worlds win.

    Boonen at Paris-Roubaix

The rest seemed a bit meh.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

Devolder's win at Flanders - for the rest of the field to watch him go down the road after last year was astonishing.

Boonen's win at Roubaix, a war of attrition as the others simply fell by the wayside.

DiLuca for making the Giro worth watching - we all knew he's on something anyway.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
