My uncle is one of the Britain's top canal boat manufacturers - I can only see the attraction if there are loads of pubs en route.

Is it still good? I was Uni there back in the early 90s. Lakota, Thekla and the Bierkeller were the places to go back then. Massive Attack and the whole trip-hop scene. Are they still there?

That's why I included him - until Depp said that I hadn't really considered it, but he really is a brilliant actor.

+1 for Ice Hockey. I took Mrs Pneumatic (who hates sport) and the minor Pneumatics to see Chamonix play Tours. Agreed to be one of the best nights out we've had together as a family. And it is brutal!

Ones whose names I can't remember, but I watch on the 24 hour coach journey between the UK and Slovakia about twice a year. If you want to see one, take a Student Agency bus over that way. Mind you, you'll also have to put up with 5 episodes of Friends and then some tosh like Dirty Dancing or Mr and Mrs Smith to counter-balance your new cultural experience.

The Czechs have a fairly similar dry sense of humour to the British, and the films have a nice, pleasant low-key feel with engaging characters.

Don't get me wrong - I like trip hop more than most people.

You're unlikely to get much of it other than the occasional obscure night.

Now that is a quality list (some Count Arthur Strong repeats are doing the rounds on Radio 4 at present, hilarious stuff). Well done, sir!

Sky Arts 1 and 2. Hard to believe Sky are responsible for such a gem of a channel. Documentaries, music, drama... hidden away way up on channel 256 and 257. A bit like BBC 4, only better.
  • +1 Night sky for sure - I spent a night camping in Haddington lying outside all night just looking at the unbridled brilliance of it. I love being in out of the way places just for the darkness, no chance round my way - light pollution rules.

Me too, a superb night out. Wasn't the show with the Eminem "My Name Is" spoof (featuring a hedge trimmer) by any chance, was it?

 Don't have those channels on my Sky package, but must be going some to beat the excellent Beeb Four!

It generally has more music stuff than BBC 4, which is probably why I end up watching it a bit more. Last night had a good documentary on the Clash, and I recently watched a great live performance by Radiohead.

It also has the excellent "In Treatment" starring Gabriel Byrne. No adverts either!
