Under-rated

Somebody (I think David Belcher) pointed out that we need an under-rated thread to go with the over-rated one. Well do it yourself then.

OK, here goes.

Bratislava - nice centre, and you can go for a swim in the lakes in the summer, not to mention some fantastic cycling in the area.
Budapest - same as Bratislava, plus Hungarian cooking
Cider - proper stuff, lovely
The British seaside - I went swimming in the sea at the end of September, beginning of October and it was lovely and warm.
Sir Fred Goodwin - a fantastic chap dedicated to the well-being of the country. (Sarcasm)
Malaysian food - slobber, drool
Lake Balaton - a million times better than swimming in the Mediterranean
Fish - as food and as a sexual partner

Indeed - it was me. I've already nominated Blur's Modern Life Is Rubbish; being the album-before-the-breakthrough record that it was, often gets overlooked but damn good in its own right. Likewise Pulp's His & Hers.

Nice biscuits (the coconut ones with lots of sugar on top, not just as in "biscuits that are nice" - although they are that too). Surprisingly moreish.

Me. I'm lucky enough to live in a village with no street lamps. :)

Another under-rated thing unless you take the trouble to look at it properly - the British autumn. People bang on incessantly about New England but things can be pretty impressive this side of the pond too. The Washburn Valley in Yorkshire looked an absolute treat when I rode through part of it in November '07. Typical that I wasn't carrying a camera at the time....

Pretty sure they're named after the French city.

+1. I often stand in the back garden staring up at the sky. Like David Belcher I live in a place with no street lighting. Unfortunately the other residents decide that they simply must have some ridiculous lighting attached to the front of their homes, just to spoil the view.

Absolutely - when it's done well, British cheese can hold its own with the best of them. Double Gloucester, too - makes fantastic cheese on toast!

+1 Was in Arrochar (at the top of Loch Long, just to the left of Loch Lomond) for a long weekend last weekend, and Sunday night was cloudless - cold but the sky was stunning.
