I can't believe no-one has listed Zappi's in Jericho, Oxford!

It's owned and run by Italian ex-pro, Flavio Zappi, who amongst many other race results held the green jersey in the '84 Giro for 2 weeks and only lost it on the last day to Laurent Fignon.

He has albums full of original black and white pictures of his pro career to peruse, and now runs and coaches his own Race Team and also a new cycling club from the Cafe - Zappi's Cafe Cycling Club ,with runs out on Sunday mornings.

Add to that he makes the best espresso I know and some very nice pannini's.
    Complicating matters since 1965

The Station Cafe in Treorchy - for anyone riding the 'Bwlch' area of the South Wales valleys or for anyone who absolutely has to stop before the first feed station on the Dragon ride!
Cup of tea and a welsh cake for £1.20 and they don't mind you taking your bike inside!!

If Wales was flattened out, it'd be bigger than England!
Planet X Ti Sportive for Sportives & tours
Orange Alpine 160 for Afan,Alps & dodging trees
Singlespeed Planet X Kaffenback for dodging potholes
An On-One Inbred for hard-tail shenanigans...
  • definitely get yourself to the Woodbine in Hope, Peak District
    http://www.woodbine-hope.co.uk/

they've got an open fire which is fab for drying out gear and yourself while you munch on homemade cakes or a bacon sarnie. as mentioned earlier the full english is pretty damn nice.
I've stayed in their B&B which is cool, there's a store out the back where they let me keep my muddy bike overnight and a hosepipe to wash it off before heading home (sorry, I ride an MTB which tends to get muddier than a road bike!!). cool place.

On my occassional forays into Oxforshire, there's good cafes in both Goring on Thames and Pangbourne - probably a bit too close together to justify stopping at both on one ride.
