I think its real, the hands on the bars look spot on, you can see the frame through his shin too, i think a pic like this would be harder to fake than to do for real.0 -
Ahhh - corpses - of course!
That's 1) Why they can x-ray anybody at all for non-medical purposes and 2) why the skeleton does sit quite right on the bike!
Nice find Uncle Monty!Cannondale Synapse 105, Giant Defy 3, Giant Omnium, Giant Trance X2, EMC R1.0, Ridgeback Platinum, On One Il Pompino...0 -

Can't quite tell from your epaulettes!
I was studying radiography at the time, but that photos about 4 years old
I took the x-ray when myself and another radiographer were discussing how well carbon fiber showed up on x-ray, as sometime we get people through who may/may not have carbon splinters from local factorys. I said my frame was carbon, so we x-rayed to find out. It's all in the name of education! (or CPD perhaps).
With regard to my seatpost, thats made of carbon... fsa goodness.- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0 -

Hoathy, do you have any experience with MIBG scans?!0

classy, that one made me smile.
I was riding on the isle of wight, newport/carisbrooke, to and from work.
MIBG scans: I have worked in places where they took place, and done my whole student bit in the nuc-med bits of imaging departments. Though most of what we did was MAG-3s and Bone Scans.
The MTB x-ray must have been heavily doctored to get it to look like that. Its pretty cool though.- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0 -
I've had two MIBG scans - was pi$$ing Iodine 123 for a few days lol.0
-
bet you were, don't that have to give you an oral dose to block out the thyroid first as well?
Radiographers sure love iodine, execpt when it makes the floor sticky in CT scanners- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0 -
Lol, yep, had to take some sodium iodide tablets! Though not enough as it turned out, as the thyroid showed up on the scan...0
-
yeah, i think thats fairly common, the thyroid loves iodine even more than radiographers do. Did you have fun lying still in a gamma camera?- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0

First scan was fine! Took about 50 mins (dual spect). Second one I had about 6 months later required me to have my arms bent in a very odd position. 70 mins of that was a killer!
Quite fascinating, would have been a field I would have liked to have got into. Funny thing was in the first scan I could see a monitor of it unfolding, and saw the uptake areas! Also seeing a CT of your innards for the first time is a weird experience!0 -
The latest CT is incedible, 3d recons are awesome now, its almost ridiculous.
Radiography is a decent enough job, pay.s reasonalbe as well. Just a shame about all the sick people you have to see :-)- Kona Hot '96 - Marin Rift Zone '09 - Cannondale Synapse Carbon '06 - Kona Caldera '98 - Kona AA '94 - Dawes Kickback II - Cannondale BadBoy '11 - Genesis iOiD SS -0 -
You lot do a good job! I got the radiographer to calculate the body dose from the injection hehe. 6msv apparently.0
