:) Glad you all enjoyed it! I didn't ride myself... was just there to support my brother, Rob Knibbs. Just to confirm that Swift, Dowsett and Stannard all completed the event and then Swift and Dowsett went on to race in Revolution at the velodrome in Manchester that same evening, scoring a first place and third place in their races respectively! Not bad having done 65 miles in the rain earlier in the day...
Hope you all come again next year, it really is for a good cause and we're really grateful that so many people turned out to support the event.
  • What a great ride! Having ridden the Tour of the Peak 3 weeks ago (and no I didn't wimp out of the long route - got the scars to prove it after being blown off on Holme Moss!) I have nothing but praise for the organisers - VERY welcome feed station that was well-stocked and a warm and friendly reception (with grub) at the end...not to mention the bottle of Black Sheep. All in contrast to the other aforementioned event.

This was significantly tougher than I had expected and judging by the riders I spoke to afterwards, I am not alone in thinking this. That said, a cracking course, well signed and one that I will do again if it is run in 2010.

Yes, just like to echo pretty much all of the above - the route took me a bit by surprise I must say, great stuff.

Sausage rolls at the feedstop too, doesn't get much better than that really :D
