    From the SealSkinz website

How do I look after my SealSkinz ?

    Washing ...

SealSkinz® can be washed in the machine – but at no more than 40°C. When washed at higher temperatures the adhesive that holds the membrane in place between the inner and the outer layer melts and your sock ‘delaminates’. When this happen your SealSkinz® will rustle – they will also need to be thrown away ...

    Drying ...

As with washing, if SealSkinz® are subjected to temperatures over 40°C, or indeed direct heat (such as a radiator, or an iron) then they can delaminate. The best way to dry them, after washing, is to turn them inside out and dry them in the airing cupboard or drip dry overnight.

With a little ‘tlc’ your SealSkinz® should last well – just don’t forget to wear appropriate footwear !

  • I put my sealskins in the bin over 6 months ago used them for about 12months ish. then they knacked up from washing them. went out and bought a pair of woolly bollys. they are the best riding socks ever and was half the price of sealskins. :D but everyones different.

My SealSkinz the stitching has come away on the inside around the cuff where the overlap is, very annoying, I keep meaning to send em back. I suffer from the 'water over the top' syndrome too. I ve noticed they now make waterproof football socks . how bizarre
