    A few sacrificial lambs to the slaughter - and I also suspect a backlash against CONI for targeting Valv/Piti. UCI pop a few low level riders yet claim the elite of the sport is squeaky clean?

    It's actually Verdry who is coming out against Astana, Bordry is far more concerned with sloppy testing procedures by the UCI. Since chain of custody and sample storage issues were at the heart of Armstrong and Landis's case against their positives I can't imagine why they aren't loudly voicing their own disapproval of the UCI's lack of rigour.
