Windy here in NI so used the turbo today.
  • Windy in Surrey/Kent - leaves everywhere but still completed the club run of 50 miles at 15,8 average - now knackered!

Ha ha folks, you wanna see wind, come to Orkney Isles. Its blowing a hoolie up here and there's no way I'd consider going out today. Just as well I'm recovering from an op on my foot and should get back to turbo next week :D Sympathy votes on a post card please :)
No, can't sympathise with anyone who lives in beautiful Orkney :D . Went on a cycling tour two years ago and loved it - covered less than 20 miles per day though. Loved the fact you could leave your bike and gear anywhere and find it there on your return. Also have photos of our 'windproofs' billowing in the wind on Orkney - not long after the photoshoot we could barely keep our bikes upright. Disappointed that we couldn't find a road sign pointing to Tw*tt as we so wanted to get a photo of it :D .

PS hope your foot heals fast :)

decided to do my photo study stuff, didnt want to waste the bright sunlight. apart from the wind that was quite gusty it was more what the hedge cutter had left behind which didnt help. i guess more night riding instead as the wind usually settles down at night.

Ludicrously windy in Newcastle. It was a struggle driving in a straight line in my car, so no chance of getting out on the bike

Not much better up in Alnwick either. I pity Cracknell and Fogle riding their rickshaw down the A1 - I just passed them and they weren't going very fast. Nasty riding into a headwind at anytime but doing it on a rickshaw can't be any fun. 60 hours to do 450 miles - I hope the weather improves for them.
Nearly there, just over this hill and round the next corner...

MTFU! Where I am you tend to get "pre-used", second-hand weather, combined with a sheltered factory estate which is empty on a saturday allowed me a brisk morning ride with some hill reps. Off to Rutland Water tomorrow, hoping for less wind as it is a bit open round them parts. :)
The older I get the faster I was

Have to say that windsurfing is my first love, just a bit more than cycling. Today was awesome! A four hour non stop session on the water and the cycling fitness really pays off.

Was in Derbyshire on Saturday, near Chatsworth. Sooooo wanted to get some miles in, but it was blowing a howler.
I think it was seeing a dumpster, with it's wheels locked, skidding across the drive, that put me off !
