Not really windy down south in Brizzle but some hydrogen and oxygen collided in the sky and fell to earth overnight.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • Too windy for me to enjoy my ride so aborted and sitting having dippy eggs with my daughter!

    Tomorrow looking good though.

Really blowy in Fife too. Our dog flap is permanently open at horizontal! and our tree is at a 45deg angle. The birds haven't managed to land for their breakfast  .

Will not be doing a morning 15mile as planned.
  • Looking at the surface pressure charts, there's a very deep low pressure system out by the Shetlands while there's hardly an isobar over Western mainland Europe. The bad news for southerners is that the wind's moving south - though it's still fairly calm down here.

The good news for all is that it's heading off to pester them there Scandinavians and the high over Europe looks to take over pretty rapidly once it's out of the way. The weekend's looking Shopperday - Cycleday.

(Not that I'd ever trust the weather forecast...)

    A. Very windy.
    B. Bloody windy.
    C. Too sodding windy to get out on bike so resorting to a tedius turbo session in garage whilst watching film( Grosse Pointe Blank methinks) on doovde player to relieve boredom of said session.
    D. All of the above.

    ANSWER: D

it's ridiculous here on the fylde coast too - 60+mph gusts says the metoffice and I have no reason to doubt them.

no way going out on the bike in that - it's neither safe nor enjoyable so best left alone!

    forecast for tomorrow looks better.
  • Tug boat skippers will rubbing their hands in glee at the extra work due to the high winds. Glad I got a decent ride in yesterday.

According to the local weather station here it,s currently blowing windforce 5 and expected windforce 8 by this evening.Would like to go out for a spin but there are already too many large broken tree branches on the road and with the weather expected to get much worse you would be a fool to go out.

  • It's comically windy on top of Ilkley Moor, not the day to be up there bah'tat. No way I'd go out on the bike in this; conditions are past 'difficult' and well into 'dangerous' IMO. There's a tree at the bottom of my road swaying about rather alarmingly too.

Edit: A builder's just parked his van right under the tree! What a muppet. I'll be watching this closely...
  • It's always windy up here, just some days more than others.

Crikey, hopper1, are you on a supply ship? Respect! I know they're pretty sturdy ships but I hope you get safely back to port anyway.

Ludicrously windy in Newcastle. It was a struggle diving in a straight line in my car, so no chance of getting out on the bike
