Just written to the Daily Mail, informing them that I've written to the PCC, and also that I'm trying to find out if it's possible to bring about criminal charges against the journalist if the cyclists involved can be identified (well, I've PMd NapoleonD).0
-
It won't breach the PCC code, Matthew Parris's rant inciting people to decapitate cyclists didn't (inciting murder is not against the code). I am all for complaining though!0

I've been in PM contact with NapoleonD, and he says that if any of the cyclists were to put forward evidence, then a criminal case might be possible.
I've sent the BCF an e-mail, saying that they should contact all clubs, to see whether their members were victims of this moron, and inform them that they could prosecute but they will need to step forward.
Please, if you belong to a club put this onto the club's forum, maybe contact BCF as well, obviously they are more likely to act if more than one person speaks up.
Thanks very much to NapD for the advice.0 -
my license fee pays for this tosser to be on telly, I don't like that so I complained to the bbc. bad enough clarkson (who can be amusing now and again) without them also having a lower grade wannabe aping his attention seeking rants.
Side note- I wonder, clarkson retires they need a new presenter for top gear... you heard it here first!0 -
Maybe one of the people he ran off the road should let off an Airzound right behind him in the middle of his next attempt at the carrot chopping world record.0

He's always been a third rate cook. Now it turns out he's a third rate human as well.
Amazing how far you can get doing catering college recipes on TV and selling jam at 8 quid a jar.
He has a shop in Winchester called Cadogan and James, near the cathedral, just in case anyone fancies having a chat about cars...Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0 -

Cheers for the heads-up, Steve. I'll not be giving that place any custom. Not that I do anyway, went in once and walked out after seeing the exorbitant cheese counter prices!
Edit: If he has a shop in these parts, does that mean I'm unfortunate enough to have the mug himself living locally?
Edit no. 2: Just found this on the Telegraph's site;
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstop ... -jibe.html
It appears that he does live near me after all, so extra caution to be exercised when out at the weekends in future. Last Sunday's Sotonia run had enough gormless twits in cars to contend with as it is.

Freedom of speech? Some mistake, surely - this is the Daily Blackmail we're talking about after all!

In thier defence, and i'm no fan of the Mail, it is their website and they can allow and disallow what they like. They're running a business, not speakers corner."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

I've been to the shop in Winchester. It's pretty rubbish and expensive. Ideal for parking loads of bikes outisde and blocking the entrance.Love bikes, not much else0

is it worth mailing another newspaper about his comments and attitude toward cyclists/behaviour ? It seems to be another story in itself the animosity toward him due to his attitude and actions, maybe cycling weekly or other cycle press could pick up the thread/story and push it further ?
Anyone got any contacts or whatever that this could be started ?0 -

True, I guess if something is libellous and/or likely to cause offence then those are sensible grounds for its removal from their website. On that basis, any chance of the DM taking the same action with the original article?
Oh, and speaking of Mail articles, here's one to cheer us up;

Presumably it dates from a time before his employment as the paper's resident pound-shop Clarkson?

Blimey - that really is a bit too close to where I live for comfort. I'll take Shaw Taylor's advice and "keep 'em peeled" when riding out that way, espeically as I'm supposed to be doing North Hants RC's time trial through there a week on Saturday. And I'll make sure my brakes are in good order....

Really? What was Page 3 like?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

I don't think I've ever had to stifle as much laughter at my desk as reading the 'amended' Wikipedia entry. It's worthy of Charlie Brooker'sTV Go Home. Say what you like about cyclists but could the average petrol-head deploy such wit in a put-down? Makes me proud right down to me chamois.

Do many people recognise you in the street?
JM: I get the odd woman who pulls her top down and asks me to sign her left breast, which is quite amusing. Do I oblige? Of course. Why not?
You’ve become a bit of a pin-up now. What’s your secret?
JM: My mate said, ‘It’s because you’re not bothered.’ I don’t play hard to get. Food’s always been my life. When I was 16, people my age were going out and enjoying themselves, but I went straight from school to the kitchen and worked like a nutter. I didn’t even have a girlfriend until I was 21. Does food come before women? Yes. Then cars. Then my dog Fudge. I can go further down the list…
You’ve no plans to settle down then?
JM: I’m settled down now. I’ve got my house and my dog. I’ve never done what everybody else has done. The standard thing to do is find someone, get married in your 20s, have two kids and be boring for the rest of your life. Most people who are married look at me and think, ‘You lucky b*****d.’ I look at them and think, ‘Why?’ You all had the option to do it, and you’ve chosen that.
Here's a few quotes from his Mirror interview for those who can't stomach the Mail. The full text is here; http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/celebs-o ... -20707659/.
Good effort with the mind reading skills JM, ‘You lucky b*****d.’ , you were only an f and and an ing and a stupid, away from getting it spot on.
I think you need to get your head checked out.If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about answers.0 -
He won't be pleased to know this cyclist designed his book last year then. Easy money. 8)0
