'Twittical mass' in London - I hope!

Guys please! I think I've been entertaining enough for one week, what with having one argument, supposedly insulting the entire Morpeth Bikeradar contingent, being called a prat who does nothing but talks about his bling bike (have you guys seen Karen?) and makes insanely long posts....
The last thing I need is to have started a "Do you Like/Hate Lance Armstrong?" thread.
This thread was and is about a 'Twittical mass bike ride'. Sure Lance is doing some but that isn't to say that Hoy, Cav, Wiggo, Pendleton or (my personal favourite Nicole Cooke (mmmm  ) couldn't do one...
That said if you must continue to argue whether man-love for Lance is OK, I'll get a cup of tea maybe some popcorn...Food Chain number = 4
A true scalp is not only overtaking someone but leaving them stopped at a set of lights. As you, who have clearly beaten the lights, pummels nothing but the open air ahead. ~ 'DondaddyD'. Player of the Unspoken Game0 -

Kind of remind me of the Team America are dicks speech.
Dicks do pu//ie/ but on occasion do a-holes as well! So that makes it OK....

Please don't reply to this 'supporting' Lance. It is not the time or the thread![/quote]
The typical stance of the Lance basher I see. And fyi I've followed pro cycling for a very long time so I don't need to google Lance Armstrong to have an opinion.Cannondale Supersix / CAAD9 / Boardman 9.0 / Benotto 30000 -

You should really research the bloke - he is full of goodness and good intentions though

And I don't want to bring up Greg Lemonds or Contador's sagas!
I have read all that stuff. Simeoni blah blah boreoff - oh my god how terrible. Zzzzzz!
Of course you have

LOL - that is probably the only thing I don't care about, his 7 wins of the Tour de France. Well done to him - he was definetely a great rider, heck, he is still pretty good. I don't hate him though, disike him, oh yes!
He had his ass kicked during this tour de france, and couldn't stop crying about it though.
Winner, deffo, bad loser, even worse!x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

It might be surprising to you though but I like all the other cyclists that achieved greater things than Armstrong - Merckx, Anquetil, Hinault, Indurain, Coppi ...x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

Lance was twittering recently that he had just met 'the greatest ever' - and posted a picture of him with Eddie Merckx (they are big mates).0 -

How would you determine that they have achieved more than Lance?
Its like suggesting that Mongomerie has achieved more than Tiger in golf.
In most people's eyes it is the Big One that counts."Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0 -

Personally, I think it would have more of an impact if a British rider did do something like a Twitter created bike ride. It would serve to raise their 'celebrity profile', the profile of cycling in the UK.Food Chain number = 4

So therefore, no, I wouldn't go.
I have never read his Twitter or anyone elses. However, how someone can castigate one of the best sportsmen to have ever lived is, in my opinion extremely shallow.
The work, the dedication, the pain and suffering he has put in to achieve what he has done is truely remakable. He has overcome plenty of obstacles to get where he has, and he certainly has my complete respect.
There seems to be an element on the roadie section who really dislike him - he seems ok to me and his achievements are awesome - not just his TDF wins but beating cancer as well0 -

I have indeed met Karen, and she is indeed an item of beauty.
And BR would be much the poorer for your random threads and long posts - keep up the good work 8)
Right, that's enough man love for one post ;-)0 -

I made the mistake of venturing onto the Pro Roadie forum one time and read their bitching about Lance and their shooting down any newbies without 10,000 posts who would disagree, won't be doing that again in a hurry :shock:0
