It's not about how awesome I am and its not about either of my bikes, it's about the next best thing, Lance Armstrong.

What do you think of his 'Twittical mass rides'?

Do you think he'll do one in London?

Would you go?

I for one like the idea of the rides, hope he will do one in London and yes, yes I would go!

Could enjoy chasing him down the embankment with a giant foam syringe.

It would take some organising, my view is he'll make an appearance at Skyride...

    Work, what work?

I think it is very cool of him, what other sportsman does anything similar? I would definitly go.

He seems as a very nice guy on Twitter IMHO. Go Juan!
  • He was in London a few weeks ago and didn't arrange a ride...

I don't think he was here long, he flew down in U2's private jet for a night out
  • That's because he just had a ride in Paisley, and left without his bike, without his hat, without his gloves, probably lucky he got out alive!!

Only way it could work in London is if it was completely spontaneous. Even then there's a good chance the numbers would be ridiculous.

He did one in LA yesterday, so don't see why London would not work.

Lance is worshipped in places like LA, of course they'll support a ride he wants to hold (America is like that).

England, more specifically the naysayers, miserable gruffs and downright spoil-sports in London, I think would be less supportive. "Oh no can't have people on bikes, the number 3 bus will be late and people'll miss tea..."

    Still one can hope...

  • Fair play to the man, I wish I'd gone to Glasgow. It'd have been worth risking certain death for the chance to have scalped him, however briefly it stuck.
  • I'd be there, in a flash.

I heard about it at 11.45, and the ride was at 12.00 in Paisley (I am central Glasgow) so, although had bike in that day, had no way of getting there in time....

I think he is an idiot and a bad person - thanks goodness he is only a cyclist. His twitter is full of egotistical crap - hope he gets his ass truly kicked next year!

So therefore, no, I wouldn't go.

  • Wiggo's a keen tweeter and a Londoner - maybe he should do a ride? Don't mind Big Tex but a ride with Brad would be awesome.

I have never read his Twitter or anyone elses. However, how someone can castigate one of the best sportsmen to have ever lived is, in my opinion extremely shallow.
The work, the dedication, the pain and suffering he has put in to achieve what he has done is truely remakable. He has overcome plenty of obstacles to get where he has, and he certainly has my complete respect.

 I don't hate the bloke - I just dislike him and you should be hard pressed not to unless you don't follow procycling.

I did read his twitter during the Tour de France, don't know what he has said after that, it might all be full of very interesting and fullfiling stories but I seriously doubt it. Enlighten me if I am mistaken though.

Mainly about his cancer campaigning, or what he has had for dinner, or inviting people out for rides. Awful stuff like that.

I've always been struck by how much humility LA shows in his tweets - would you mind pointing out the 'egotistical crap' as I seem to have missed it.

I disagree, a person can have the talent to achieve in any given field that doesn't mean that they, as a person, will earn my respect.

I may however, admire what they've achieved but then equally its how they achieved it and the way in which they enjoy their success.

In terms of Armstrong, I haven't followed his entire career, but the Man now, I quite like him.

  • I am aware that there has been pro and anti Lance sentiments here in the past, however, being quite new, I seem to have missed it all.

I can see how people may not be a fan of The Person, however, I have not read any of his comments, his twitters or interviews in cycling magazines.

However, I am a huge fan of his achievements both in sport and for charity.
I for one, hope he wins the Tour next year.

Really interesting  at least he is not spouting crap about his team mates.

You should really research the bloke - he is full of goodness and good intentions though

Please stop. Just type 'Lance Armstrong' in the search box at the top right.

We all know how successful he was in the tour but there is a lot more to him than 7 wins. Read a bit about some of the 'other' things he has done and then form your opinion. There is some quite unplesant stuff. Did you not read his tweets about 'AC'?

Please don't reply to this 'supporting' Lance. It is not the time or the thread!

It is amazing to see how many supporters he has got outside the procycling ranks.

I have and its tediously boring. Lance is a winner, that makes a lot of people hate him.
