You might have more luck on the CTC forum.
    More problems but still living....

yeah you want the CTC forum site. Linky to the LeJoG bit:

(FWIW riding end to end in January seems likely to be a cold wet and miserable experience)
  • ...not to mention the limited hours of daylight!!!...especially in Scotland, if its a rotten day you'll be lucky if it gets light at all. It all sounds like a recipe for hypothermia to me.

Do check how long the days aren't in the north of scotland in January won't you? We were up there in may/june and it barely got dark, I assume that time of year it's not very light!

Hmmmmm, touring through Scotland in January?
It can be pretty grim just commuting, there is a good chance of roads closed by snow, or rain and storm force winds...
I would agree that some days in the far north you would need lights on all day.
But I guess there must be a sort of grim satisfaction in taking it on in the worst possible conditions...

mmmmmmmm, i think you should check-in to the funny farm - i've just done a 4 day tour round central scotland/northern england this week and the weather was horrific! Good luck to you though........
