hi mate, this is a bit of a vague question.... depends on how you define long and how fast you'll be riding etc........ different drinks and foods work better for different people
personally I use nuun tablets for my fluid and take energy bars, bananas and also fig rolls, because I find this works for me rather than drink with a carbohydrate content
some people use combined energy drinks like SIS and gels
what doesn't work is protein or fatty content during a ride, and dense sugars should be taken in small doses
I think somewhere on bikeradar there are recipies for homemade foods that you can take on a ride, this will give you a good idea of the food contents even if you don't want to make stuff yourself
