Cheap cabon frame

Ribble Sportive -
Difference in weave though, Pedal force has the fancier 3k weave.0 -
Bought one last year- light solid, no problems with it; looks plain without the stickers that seem to add several hundred quid to the price of the frame. I built mine up with FSA bars and carbon seat pillar , and Shimano Ultegra gruppo. When I bought it the frame did not include forks, the token forks and ritchy headset cost as much as the frame.
Not one single straight or round tube on the bike the only negative I mark is the left rear chainstay is flattened - making adjusting shoe position critical to avoid heel clip. I really enjoy the ride on the bike much more compliant then my old reynolds 531 frame, much stiffer, much lighter. Seriously good value.
I was under the impression that most production carbon frames are mass produced, Chinese factories are known to 'overproduce' and sell items at not too much more than the price that they charge the company that the items were produced for.0 -
Not quite right, I'm afraid.
Ribble get SOME of their frames from Dedacciai.
The Sportive model frame is NOT one of them.
Why don't you ask them next time you are in the shop?
Ok I will ask the boss when I'm back into work tomorrow then!!! I feel sure he knows were we buy them from....

I'd also be interested in how much vat / import duty you have to pay on this (to the UK).0

Ask the supplier to declare it as a sample with no commercial value.0

I ordered a sportive with ultegra off Ribble. After spending a good hour chatting to Dave in the shop, (an extremely helpful and knowledgeable young man) and being measured up on their bike jig, and l ...

Hey guys, didn't mean to start a separate thread with my Ribble Deda comment, it was not made based on any insider knowledge, I just THOUGHT all Ribble frames came from Deda.
Not that I'm particularly bothered so long as it continues to ride the way it does. :PMy knees hurt !0 -

Hey no worries!! I too am more than satisfied with my planet x cast off. That's if you believe that total load of bollox? Can you imagine BMW buying their chassis off general motors?
But I find it's best to either wind them up, or humour them. It makes me feel so alive
