Baby boy or baby girl dilemma!

Firstly congratulations.
Secondly - I don't think you need to worry - our first is now just over 4 months and we had to have a scan at 30 something weeks. Both my Mrs and I were adamant we didn;t want to find out, and so told the sonographer. She said that at that late stage they can't tell - because the baby is so squished up you can't detect things.0 -

PS all. I have ready out "some" of your comments to the misses! She likes the one about being a Forrest fan, and that's about it.
I think she realises she's out numbered by cyclist / public opinion! Cheers for your comment you lot (most of you anyway? Not you jellybellywmb?? )"I spend my petrol money on Bikes, Beer, Pizza, and Donuts "

Now the excitement begins!
I'm very jealous of you in a lot of ways Zedders, wish I was going through it all again!
Congratulations and good luck mate.0 -

exactly! And it's either a boy or a girl, hardly a surprise!
I shall be finding out in just over 3 weeks, i'll be sure to let you all know0 -
We were told (accidentally)after our second scan that our first was going to be a boy. Imagine my surprise when a nice little lady came out
Whatever happens regarding the gender, it is just the best thing ever!0 -

will you shut up! the misses LOL when she read this. You don't realise how sadistic she can be. She would call it Brian just to pee me off!
Shite, she's just shouted "what about Nigel" :x
All of a sudden "Gary" seems to be a nice name."I spend my petrol money on Bikes, Beer, Pizza, and Donuts "

Another sore subject. She wants it to be a Forrest fan!
She's Forrest scum, and so is her Dad. As her two nephews are City fans she's trying to tell me we have to even the numbers up at bit for her & her Dad's sake!

I can't see what the problem is with finding out the sex - the great thing is having your child and holding it in your arms - the surprise of it being a boy or girl really is secondary by a long long way. Anyway if it turns out to be a red dog it doesn't really matter what sex it is - you wont want anything to do with it.

Quite right too! although it's not too easy to return it and say I want one that likes Leicester. I suspect mine's gonna like Chelsea living where I do.
*Sighs and shakes his head*
Hang on Forrest I can handle - wanna swap"Bed is for sleepy people.

Hi
I have to say I went for a private scan after my nhs 20 week one to find out, I just wanted to know and so did her dad, although I did tell him I was happy to find out and just not tell him.0 -
We both wanted to know the sex of our little boy before he was born, I think keeping that part a secret is pointless as it is the last thing you worry about when it is born, to be honest I was thankful of a heathly baby after he was born and that was all.
I also had a 4D scan done, as as mentioned previously, it is difficult to keep the sex of the baby too secret when you have one of those.
Also having a 4 1/2 year old kid hasn't affected my cycling one bit, in fact I took up cycling when he was about 2 1/2 anyhow. Though to be honest recently it seems I don't see him much at a weekend, as I am generally racing at least one of the days.0 -

The only salient thing my Dad has ever said to me was when I informed him that he was going to be a Grandad,
"You have the best times to come"0 -
Like most of the other congratulations and I hope it all goes well.
One thing I remember being told when wife was scanned was that some times ,especially with the early scans, seeing a dangly bit does not necessarily mean a boy. My wife looked I decided not to; the Hospital did not comment. Admittedly that was over 16 years ago and technology has improved. Now my eldest has just made me proud with her GCSE results0 -

One of the reasons Im not too sure about whether or not I want kids is my Dad enjoying watching me go through what I put him through I would rather wait to find out naturally if I were in that position though.0
