I 'spose you can always keep them for your next bike (and put the originals back on) when you decide to move on.0

But hes obviously just seen the wheels in the shop or whatever, and been hit with a bad case of bling-itus. We've all been there. Given time, I'm sure his own sense of logic would stop him wasting the money. But for riding around town, he would not benefit from those wheels at all. Chances are they would be nicked pretty quickly, especially as hes almost definetly got quick release, leaving him in an even worse situation.
Unless of course, hes a millionaire, then he might as well. Although no matter how rich you are, if your wheels get nicked youve still probably got to carry your bike home.
Im starting to wonder if this whole thing is a troll, anyway.0 -
omfg! getting called a troll now!0

RealMan I think the OP is probably offended at you calling his bike rubbish! A bit harsh!
However I do agree that while the wheels are good, and of course they will be an vast improvement, they will be out of place somewhat. Just my opinion. I'd split the money.0 -

Just like I said...pte1643 wrote:I 'spose you can always keep them for your next bike0 -
why is there going to be "a next bike" ? everyone is always gobbing of about how good ht bikes are and how good the avalanche is and how good a 600 ht will be, why not upgrade it and keep it forever.
there seems to be an unusually massive amount of bollox geting spoken on the forum at the moment
a guy asked a question, he wanted an answer not a load of sheepscunts, (many of whom are clueless sheepscunts at that) dishing out un-founded bollocks advice.0 -
The absolute answer is yes in weight terms. Of course it is. But spending more on your wheels than your bike cost is a bad way to maximise your dough IF that is all you have to spend in one go. It is billed as an XC race wheel, so if you plan to do that fine, but GT did not design the bike for that.0

there are plenty of folk around who kit their bikes out a bit diferent to the way the manufacturer intended. doesnt do them any harm.0

Has he bought them yet? I've taken off my wheels in anticipation!
I understand the point that some people are trying to get across, but it's not worth getting bent out of shape and arguing about. If that's what the OP wants to buy, then it's up to him.
Why can't we all just get along (*dons kaftan, and pedals away*)!0
