First, ask the bike shop if you can exchange it for cash. (how much is it, anyway?)

If not, which bike shop is it. You could probably exchange it for money of similar value on here if its a bike shop other people use.

Those wheels are super light, super expensive, pimped out XC race wheels. Your bike isnt.

What GT 1.0 is it? Avalanche, ID4, Force etc?

You could probably spread the money to greater effect.

If you like GT, and want a lighter racier machine, I'd sell the Avalanche and put the monet towards a Zaskar.

If you're going to buy them anyway, why post on here for advice?

So you would actually waste £600 just because you think it would annoy someone?

because I wasnt going to buy them anyway! thats why I asked on here, after the comments it seems they are way to good for my bike which is better then being way too sh*t,so am now thinking why not.

mate calm down,I thought we were having a bit of banter? not because it would annoy you(i dont even know you) but as I have always wanted some wheels and like I said buying aload of other stuff that I dont really need to me would be a waste of £600.

Its not that it would annoy me. In fact, it would benefit me because you giving money to the bike shop means more money to the bike industry, which in the end benefits riders like me.

I am just trying to stop you from doing something really stupid. What you want to do is the equivelant of putting ferrari wheels on a renault clio. Its still going to be rubbish, and youre just going to have wasted a load of money for no gain.

if it puts a smile on my face thats a gain.
  • Good idea to buy the wheels.

    Sorry  can't stop laughing.........

Seriously, try trading your bike in and use the money to get something decent. A Sirrus or something.....Maybe a tri-cross.

Still haven't stopped laughing....... .....

It is a good bike for the money. Perhaps one of the best - tough all rounder, but no XC feather. But not rubbish!

If I had 600 quid, and must upgrade, I'd get an RS Revelation, new tyres and some cheaper wheels.

Why dont you give the money to charity or something if you really dont want? Or you could give it to me. Or again, what bike shop is it? I'm sure it wont be hard to find someone who would give you cash for it.

More money (credit vouchers) than sense, perhaps?

Why ask for advice you intend to ignore???

    They are very good!

But if you want tp maximise performance for your money, I would split the money. Unless you have long term plans with the bike in which case I would guess the frame is on the list to upgrade.

Question - Are these any good?
    Answer - Yes
    Response - Thanks

    The end.

Inferred question appeared to be "Should I buy them?". Oh, please , please forgive my misunderstanding, but the rest of the thread also appeared to support my assumption.

if you ve got the money and it needs spending, then buy those wheels, i dont see why you arent allowed them? what the fuck has it got to do with anyone else,
i know you have asked on a forum and therefore everyones opinion is valid but there isnt any such thihing as the mtb police.

specialized dont specify which bikes their wheels can be fitted to.

realman, you are quickly turning into the forum knob.

if you want a better bike in the future everything exept the wheels will be gone of that bike, so what is the fcuking point??

Once again, I dont care what components he puts to that bike.

But hes going to be very dissapointed when he finds out hes wasted £600 on a set of wheels, and his bike is still not good.

The best thing he can do, like someone else said, would be to change the tyres, and keep the credit for when he has enough money to combine it and buy himself a decent bike.

why is everyone so interested what this guy wants to spend his money on? "please don't put those wheels on that bike..." what has it got to do with you?

if he wants to put one of the best sets of xc wheels on the market on his GT, then why not? just because you think the bike isn't good enough to justify the expence - the money isn't coming from your pocket, is it...

    cut the guy some slack

yes your right the question was are these any good if the answer was no then your right I wouldnt have got them but as the answer was not a straight yes,it was more a yes but too good for your bike, well thats for me to say,all I wanted to know was are they a good wheel to buy,its so funny I see people all the time buying stems posts etc for the hundred pound mark and ok they do have a use but to me wheels are a major part to a bike and ok they are way to good but I am limited to what I can get so like I said why not put a big smile on my face,

didnt think MTBers were so snobby,
