Myk-ee has already planned the route... I believe it was called ' the surrey massacre' and can be found on bikely
Perfect - a route planned already too. I'm liking this 8)
The surrey massacre?!??!! Hahaa... I was thinking that if we have a large group outing then perhaps an easier/shorter route may be more appropriate so we can all stay together and enjoy the company, not just the riding.

Rich - Are you okay to set up an 'RPCC Autumn Leaves' thread?

Once again I'm scared and excited about Sunday's ride, but pride is a killer. Batter up!

The Autumn Leaves sound very, very nice...

And also gives me an objective.

Lately I share the opinion of NWLondoner and just can´t get out of bed in the morning...

You're scared about the ride on Sunday! I'm looking at all them hills and thinking how long is this going to take me.

Am really looking forward to it. Had some great challenges in the last few weeks especially the painfest in Surrey and the 125 miler to Worthing and back. Bring it on!!

Yeah. Last Sunday was the first time in ages I had butterflies in my stomach before a ride. I knew the intensity from the week before and the 'hard men' where out so I knew it would be tough.

Think this Sunday will be a quick one too, but with an extra 40ish kms..
It's the vibe of the thing.

8.30 kick off sound good? Also I don't know the route for the long route. Unless someone else knows the Coldharbour-Peaslake-Leith route, I am up for the shorter route from top of Coombe down to Ranmore then Box.
  • As long as I get an early night I'll be there at 8:30

Up for something a similar distance to last week but could vary it a little. Think I know the route you're suggesting Berns but you seem to have the places out of order - assume you mean going to Shere then Peaslake then Holmbury then up round Leith to Coldharbour and back in via Box Hill?
  • I am in for the 8.30 tomorrow morn. I may have 2 mates also keen to join. I know the way round the Hills, so we can decide upon a route when we kick off. See you guys then.

Quite possibly! I am like James May away from the short route, so going to rely on you and Fuji to get me around!

    8.30 usual spot?

To be fair we've had a bit of a chat about this and have concluded that a leg-breaker 'falling leaves' ride probably isn't wise with regard to encouraging a decent turn-out and, possibly more to the point, still having folk survive it to be able to enjoy the social afterwards

We're actually planning on riding this one as a group

OK so excited about this now.

Lets meet so we can roll out together - anyone got any suggestions.

    Hi Guys

I might be up for this tomorrow morning, not been on here much as I'm on the commuting forum mostly. Think I can handle the pace though :D

I think I know a certain Richard G. that will now find tomorrow interesting after todays RP laps

Make sure you don't allow him to sit on the back....or even better, ensure he does ALL the work for the group

Which group did you do Rich?
I went with James in the 4th group, but it became the 3rd group as we overtook the others! Held on fine for 3 laps but the pace ramped up on Sawyer's Hill for the last one and I got shelled (along with Paul H). Probably worked too hard but what the hell...

  • Good ride today and even bumped into some of the RPCC-ers doing their park laps

Some new / newish faces and a beautiful tailwind pushing us back home - some how I hit 35 mph going through the Epsom roundabouts

Good luck to everyone doing the Woodcote sportive tomorrow
