+1 on that
I know the spider island in derby it looks like a biatch anyway even if your in a car .I avoid the toyota roundabout and use the cycle path on the way to work as people have been knocked off before. If in doubt assume everyone is comatose behind a wheel.
As for drivers ignoring their left mirror i tend to find they ignore every mirror and i must assume that most drive cars that have failed the MOT as their indicators sure do not work
Hope you heal soon ......................FCN 3/5/90 -

A38?
Oh, and I wouldn't do the inner ring road in Derby... at any time.
And have you seen the new plans for the Raynesway? Good cycle paths on that stretch - all included in the plan!Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

I actually work at toyota , i come via bretby and repton then kink onto the cyclepath at the petrol station it adds a mile to my route each way but its a dang sight safer than risking the roundabout.
Fun when its gets dark on those unlit back roads :PFCN 3/5/90 -
Nice one - I used to live in the Brizlincote Valley, so know the route very well. That sharp little climb after you turn right out of Repton up to Bretby is a bitch. :?
So you join at the y-pass? Is the cycle path there free of glass and crap - it was awful the last time I cycled the stretch between Burton and Willington.Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

Yup join at the y pass and it is still very bad for glass and bits off lorries luckily i run city jets and havent had any problem yet...............
I know briz valley i actually live near the tip in newhall so i have a nice wake up call hacking up the hill out of newhall every day .
Home ward bound i actually turn right at repton roundabout to newton solney then head up the single track lane towards bretby.
have tried going into burton via the a444 but have been nearly killed a number of times by lorries so the back roads are a dang sight safer.FCN 3/5/90
