I wish there was a website for exchanging of old magazines. Like a swap site. I have loads of old magazines that i never know what to do with. I know i'll never read them again, but i dont like to bin them cause they've cost me so much.0

MBUK and WMB (occasionally)
Been buying MBUK since I was 12, so its just one of those monthly purchases.0 -

I have a subscription to the PDF version of Singletrack. The, obvious, problem with it is that I have to sit in front of a computer screen to read it. I much prefer reading printed materials (easier on the eyes, flicking through is much easier) and I can't read it on the ivory throne.
I'd love to have a portable PDF reader with colour screen (a bit like an Amazon Kindle, which are much easier to read than a laptop screen), even better if I could annotate the file.
The good things are ease of availability (I just need a net connection to get the latest issue), price (especially as I'm not in the UK) and that I get access to around 30 back issues included.0 -

WMB and MBR for me.
Love the routes in MBR and the writing style in both mags is really good. The Buyers guide in the back of WMB is really good, inspired to start saving for an IronHorse Warrior 1.x.
MBUK used to be THE mag, now it's a bit like Max Power.
Never been able to find Singletrack or Dirt.
And BikeRadar completely destroys the MBR website.Giant ATX 8300 -

WMB. Best for getting you dreaming about the next bit of blingness. Some good routes, might inspire me to go and ride some. That's good.
MBUK, sorry but I'm 35 so it's a bit too "rad to the power of sick air, dude" for me. Might inspire me to go and really hurt myself somewhere. That's bad. (as in bad bad, not good bad)0 -
I do think each of the mags fills a niche in the mountain bike mag market and that can only be a good thing. I agree with whoever said MBUK is the Max Power of the bike mags. Personally its WMB every time for me, and credit where credits due last months issue was excellent!!! Keep it up
As for online mag purchases (pdfs), I just don't see the point if you're gonna publish on the web as well as in print it should be on a website and free! Although selling back-issues available via pdf for a discounted price would be a good idea.0 -
there isn't a perfect magazine. you need them all to fullfill all the properties0

For me it's Singletrack, it just appeals to me a lot more than the other mags, and seems to have a bit more of its own identity.
MBUK comes across as being a bit juvenile and chavvy/laddy, but does have Mint Sauce.
WMB is generally quite interesting, fairly similar to MBUK but more gear focussed and less WOAH GNARLY!
I like the routes in MBR, although I sometimes find the reviews to be a bit German.0 -

+1 (at 34)
How old are the guys who write for MBUK? Maybe I'm old before my time...
I'm indifferent now, MBR is an occasional purchase, even MBUK now and then (for a flight or if there's a decent free gift) but tend to just use BR website for news and general stuff or Google if I'm looking for particular product reviews.0 -

Definitely a redeeming feature, but even Mint Sauce is a bit... er... samey these days. Slightly random but supposedly deep, perceptive observation? Oh, been there, done that...
Beautifully drawn though.0 -
Dirt Is a visually very good mag, but I always find myself drawn towards MBUK!0

I used to subscribe to both MBUK and MBR but have decided to rather alternate periodicals as some can be tedious month in and month out - the formats are so very repetitive, so I now buy two mags per month and am enjoying:
Singletrack - Now even better as it's easily available (exclusively) from WHS
WMB - Great reviews and articles, more down to earth than MBUK & MBR
Dirt - Aimed at the younger generation but great photos, articles and painfully small fonts0 -
I reckon WMB should have the 'Mint Sauce' stuff, be almost perfect then 8)Orange 2010 P7 - Custom Build - My New Bikey Poos

Voted other. I read Terrengsykkel because it's the only local mag. It's hilarious though, they have a whole different standard over here (and it's a very silly standard). For example a few months ago they had a "budget hardtail" review issue. Their idea of budget being around £1500.
The current issue features a full suss XC comaprison with no bikes under £4000 and a wheel set review with none under £900. That said they give good local knowledge and their reviews are focused on Norwegian riding conditions. Even if they can't quite get their heads out of the idea that people can spend less than £1500 on a bike and have a good time.0 -
