  • Once on hamsterley black with my brother I saw something pure black about the size of a labrador run into the undergrowth, jumped off my bike but couldnt see anything.

It happened so quick I never got a proper look at it, but I did find the skull of a ram under a fallen tree which made me think how did it get there !!

Still have the skull in my back garden ha ha !!

Ever stop to think it could have been a labrsdor? As an ex forester i have found sheep skulls all over in various blocks of woodland. Said sheep was probably dumped there by a farmer.

Yeah there is a "magnetic hill" near the ski town I live in in the winter - has some optical illusion going on that you sit in a car, think you are pointing down hill and roll backwards.

Theres a hill near me like that as well. Because the trees grow at strange angles and all the landscape has sort of deformed, it looks like this road is flat but if your car is in nuetral you roll up the hill. Very wierd!

Had that when I was cycling (on road unfortunately... ) around North Wales. I swore blind that we were going down hill, but for some reason, it was bloody hard work!

I kept cursing my bike, my legs, my lungs, the wind... Everything. Untill someone said ''Err... You do know we are cycling UP hill, right..?''. Even then I didn't believe him immediately...

    Damn optical illusions..!

And Dave_Hill, sounds like you need to tell your neighbour to wear clothes, and you need to stop being so jealous!

There is definitely one of those optical illusions nearby here somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember where. I remember being shown it as a small child, and it confused the hell out of me!
It could well have lost the effect as the trees, fields etc grew bigger I suppose.
