Both of these are recorded onto the same box, so even if the clock in the timing box was wrong (which it shouldn't have been; it was set only an hour before first start) then it would have been wrong for both your start and finish times, so the gap between them should still be consistent with your ride time.
I have had one email from a rider who thinks his finish time is out, but can't see why that would be when most of them seem to be correct.
SS - yes, thanks for taking the time to reply to this - I realise I'm just one of the 1500 riders, so appreciate your attention.
As I feared, the easiest solution is just to ride faster next year!0 -
fwiw my time was bang on what i thought
SS - i liked the bits that some other poster said was boring/pointless... on a 100 miler, like a bit of straight, flat tarmac to get a bit of speed up, all up on down on narrow lanes is no fun.
Yes there were a few narrow lanes and gravel, but a lot better than some other rides i've been on.... expect that sort of thing, as long as it's only in a few places.
Was a bit peeved to arrive at about 7:30 and get sent to the overflow carpark, but in the event no great problem as there was a short cut to the start and although i forgot the route back and went the long way after the finish, this was no bad thing as ai probably needed a gentle spin back to the car, rather than just climbing off the bik, after i'd attempted to time trial from the 5km to go sign to the finish
Good job, i'll come back next year i think.0 -
Left in the first wave 8:04 and found a cracking bunch of guys that worked together to the point where when we arrived at CP2 the guy there wasn't fully set up and a little in shock and responded that we shouldnt be here yet! ha... brilliant! We lost some and some others went on towards the last few miles but I still managed under 5 hours, really pleased but couldnt of done that without such a good group!
narrow lanes - hmm.. well, I can only imagine how hard if must be planning a route in the UK that isn't all on main roads or roads that are gravel free! There the same roads for us all and care must be taken I guess.
Parking, I guess I got lucky and parked up by the start after my 5am start and 90 mile drive.
Great day and a great sportive. Hope those that did pick up an injury are on the mend.
