Crap phobias

Has anyone else here got a rubbish phobia? My fear of heights makes perfect sense, that's not rubbish at all. But mottephobia, now that's just weak. Can anyone beat my bloodcurdling horror in the face of tiny moths?

i have a phobia of sharks .... but then they can like eat you

Heights is annoying, I'm overcoming it though.
Spiders is the annoying one. I'm getting a lot better, I can now handle spiders up to around a centimetre in diameter, still give me shivers though. Larger ones just freak me out completely. I know they can't hurt me, but I'm still terrified.
Thing is, I can happily catch things like wasps and bees that I know can hurt me in pots or something, i don't mind much if they land on me. Spiders though...0 -
I don't like spiders either, but 6 months living in Oz helped to desensitise me to the puny ones we have in this country0

Went to a theme park last week, and a friend of mine said she was scared of heights, an that the "apocalypse" at drayton manor would scare the crap out of her. I thought, meh, everyone says stuff like that before going on, and this girl ain't scared of ANYTHING!
I noticed she was quiet on the way up in the ride, so I looked across and saw a ghost-white face, dripping sweat, hyperventilating, and gripping the hand thing so tight her knuckles were about to pop.
I was genuinely worried, I've never seen anyone so scared in my life, I kept shouting "hold my hand!" but she was comatose!
I felt really bad for a while for making her go on it - although she says she did enjoy it after the ride finished
I have a sort of fear of heights, but I love the adrenaline rush, so I actually enjoy being high up!0 -
Any man made object underwater.
Locks, weirs, pipes, the underside of boats, ships, etc.
The sink hole in Ladybower reservoir is the epitome of that fear...
Strange as I love all sorts of water activities and have no fear of anything natural (apart from sharks!) like reefs.0 -
I dont have any particular phobias - not keen on spiders or heights but not to a phobic level.
IN Canada used to watch this series called Mantracker - two people attempt to get from point a to point b whilst being pursued by old style tracker dude on a horse - one slightly nancy city lad and his team mate are camped in tent overnight - girl goes off to pee in woods and nancy boy is terrified on the "prey cam" saying he has blahblahblahaphobia which is apparently "the fear of being alone in the dark at night in the woods". Doesn't everyone have that fear? Especially in the wilds of Canada with bears, wolves, big cats etc
I also have a friend who has fear of dinosaurs - even a poster makes her cringe in fear.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
WHen I saw the title I thought you had a phobia about crapYou don't need eyes to see, you need vision0
-
Apparently i'm hippophobic - not scared of hippo's (although they are fcuking scary), but HORSES - i hate them! Often come across them in the woods and i basically shat myself, hyperventilate, and whatever riding buddy i can as a human shield.0

im terrified of enclosed spaces, the thought of being back in one makes me very uncomfortable.
i did a working in confined spaces course about a year ago and i didnt know until the first test that i was claustrophobic. we were in blacked out masks so we were blind and wearing breathing apparatus and 5 of us were sent into this obstacle course from one direction, t'other 5 were sent in from another so at some point we woul have to cross each other.
i had a very hard time, completed it, but needed talking round. the space was a network of tunnels made out of metall cages joined together so you can be watched by the instructors but obviously your are blind.
it took me about 15 minutes to get round and that was about 9 minutes sitting in a corner of the course telling the instructor that i wanted to take my mask off and stop. what a baby. luckily im a PIC now so never have to go back into a tunnel again.0 -

Me personally, am NOT keen on heights. I spose I'm afraid, but I'll do my best to do whatever it is. Did the 'Tough Guy' event a few weeks ago, and did all the height obstacles
Getting there! 8)Boo-yah mofo

Heights.
The weird thing is that as a kid I never had the fear. I used to run over a 30m long, 1m wide sewage pipe that was about 20m over a river EVERY DAY after school to go home.
Now if I come close to a drop or even just watch one on TV I get crazy pins and needles in my feet and my legs turn to jelly. WTF?!?!?!
And anything with more than 4 legs has no business living on this planet and if they come near me will suffer my wrath!0 -
heights - a bit
snakes - a bit
I've overcome my fear of worms by handling them lots - bought a few for my compost heap and they had hundreds of babies - so no problem now
slugs - if i look at one i feel like vomiting - it's not good.
blood - sight of blood in larger than usual amounts can cause me to pass out. Had to be helped out of a screening of Reservoir Dogs once. I believe this stems from a trauma when I was kid - saw a woman run over by a bus - and all I cna remember was the huge pool of blood.
Last time I saw a dead body on the road - a bloke who'd been run over by a lorry by Woolwich Common - there was a similar huge pool of blood - i didn't pass out - but I ended up having a really bad day....not as bad as the bloke who died though.0 -
Cant stand large expanses of water. I can just about manage to have a shower without going weak at the knees  its a real $hitter on holiday when the kids are bombing around in the sea and I darent go near!2014 Whyte T-129S0

I think I may win this one, most of the other fears mentioned are things that can hurt you (even heights, you're probably more scared of falling from that height).
I suffer from Bambakomallophobia. Sounds cool? Google it and see what it is :oops:It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.
