Yum!
I like this year's paintjobs too. The red stripes are back!
The red/white/black S-Works is mint. Makes my black S-Works look a bit, well, black.0 -
some really nice lookin bikes ... finally spesh have got styling sorted, well kind off, still a few look boring , but the demo, sx trail and stumpjumpers look nice, but why are the s-works the dullest lookin of them all?? for the money you would expect them to look the best but they just dont :?
the ali stumjumper fx and epic look nice too, but i dont think id buy one tbh0 -
i never really like the look of specialized bikes as they dont really have much of a wow factor, but this years line up.....WOW! the white pitch looks damn tasty, if it had white rims i would be straight down my local spesh dealer to place an order!Trek Remedy 7 2009

Great looking bikes. Looks like the rumoured move to M5 alloy for the FSRxc has not happened. Probably to avoid it getting too near to the Stumpy.
Loving the new Stumpy and Enduro. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -

I guess Specialized view customers who have £5k+ to spend on a bike as people who would rather not have bright, bling, bling colours etc on their bike.Daz555 wrote:Great looking bikes. e.g. The FSRXc and Rockhopper only moved from A1 to M4 frames when the Stumpjumper FSR had been running with an M5 frame for a couple of years.Specialized Enduro SL Pro Carbon

Remember that Specialized do the bikes in completely different colours for different regions so what you see there may not be available in the UK.0

True, and often different specs.
The USA rockhopper has suntour forks this year.0 -
oh great that means we'll get, brown then as usual, i knew it was too good to be true, there's no way both giant and spesh could sort their styling out in the same year .....0

That made me spit my coffee over the keyboard!!!0 -
Some of the lower end models look really nice. Not keen on the new Stumpy FSR and the Enduro looks like a farmer's gate to me. Stumpy hardtail in black is tasy.
SX trail 1 hasn't changed (much) and the 2 doesn't look as good as last year's (which was awesome in my eyes). Why does the cheaper pitch always look better than the more expensive one?0 -

Is that good or bad? ;-)

The SRAM XX kit looks nice
The new Enduro looks super stiff and loving the fact they come with chain guides.
Interesting the Transition has stayed the same as 09 considering the new Shiv is out, I guess they are testing that in competitive use first before it’s rolled out. Probably too expensive as well.Specialized Enduro SL Pro Carbon

I'm thinking about buying a Stumpjumper Elite and was looking at the 09 version, reckon I should wait for the 2010 or just get the 09 now (I'm not a very patient persion, kinda want it now)?Canyon Spectral AL 9.0 EX

Tough one. Pros and cons really. The 2010 is likely to be more expensive, especially if you are able to haggle on price of an 09 elite. Not sure if the spec will change much, but you have the all new frame/shock lay out on the 2010. The 09 is capable of the same 140mm travel up front but I think it is "only" 120 mm at the rear. Not sure what size you are after but availability on the 09's may be an issue if not already.
I am well chuffed with my comp and have no regrets getting
mine ~ the new comp would have been out of budget. Good luck!2015 Nukeproof Mega TR 275 in raw0 -
I'd be after a medium which is showing as in stock at the store I'd likely get it from.
I'd have to get it on finance though, which can only be done if the bike is on sale at close to RRP (which it is in this case) so while I'd like to haggle them down on price, it may then price it out of the ability to get finance (interest free monthly payments, so the bike seller effectivly pays the interest for me but as a result they cant discount the bike much or they make no profit on it).
I guess the worry is that I get it, then the 2010 comes out and the price on the 09 drops by several hundred while i'm left paying the higher price each month.
I suppose what I need to do is speak to the shop and see if they will knock any money off due to the 2010 being so close, and if they are willing to discount it, would they still offer finance.
James.
EDIT:
My other worry, which isn't really related to 2009 vs 2010, is that I'd be moving from a GT I-Drive which has the I-Drive system to counter pedal feedback to a system which doesn't have anything to counter the feedback.
The I-Drive works really well but the bike I own sufferes from the horrible creaking noise that a lot of I-Drive owners suffer from, and I've pretty much had enough of it.
Worried it'l feed a bit squidgy comapred to the I-Drive.Canyon Spectral AL 9.0 EX

They’d be an awesome shop if they offer 0% finance AND give you a serious discount. I heard (maybe somewhere on here) that the 2010 Elite will be RRP£2,200 (a significant increase over the £1,860 price tag of the 09) – would this tempt vendors into not offering much of a discount? Is it possible that they could take the line of: “Well, the 09 is already £340 less than the 2010 so take it or leave it. Technically, you are already getting a discount over the current model, etc”.
With regard to Stumpys in particular, the 2010 is such a different bike from the 2009 that it’s more of a case of “which one do you actually prefer?” rather than “more or less the same bike but cheaper” as is usually the case when making the “this year or last year’s model?” decision.
Given the considerable price hike, I'd be a bit concerned about the 09's flying off the shelves, especially since you want a medium. What I would say is that I was in Specialized Bristol a few weeks ago and they told me they had “50+” medium 09 Elites in stock so they still have a healthy reserve if your heart is set on that bike.0 -
I just ordered a Myka Sport for Mrs S. Its just the same as the ones in the picture (in black).
In stock in Leisure Lakes. We get it this week... hope it wont be on eBay in a cpl months!!!
It was £50 more than a 2009 but she liked the colour more! We got 10% in accessories thrown in which was OK considering its ONLY just come out.0 -

All fair comments and stuff I'd been thinking about.
Basically I'm wanting a nice lightweight XC bike that can handle trails such as the Dalby Forest Red/Black routes.
I have an SX Trail 1 (09) which I use for bigger stuff and I love the bike which is why I'm thinking of getting another Specialized and the Stumpy looks like it'l do the job.
The 2010 looks very nice but I dont need it to have a massive amount of travel, so the 09 with it's 120mm's sounds good.
Anyone have any opinion on moving from an I-Drive/Free-Drive type system (to negate pedal feedback) to a bike without such a system? will I notice much difference?
I'm worried that if the frame bobs too much it'l hinder me when climbing since I'm not particularly fit as it isCanyon Spectral AL 9.0 EX

the fsr is designed to offer independent suspension which doesnt affect braking or pedalling. all specialzied fsr bikes have the same system and in my experience, its outstanding, i particularly like that the suspension works when im pulling the brakes going down rough stuff, some supension tends to lockout under braking.
all 3 of my fsr bikes pedal superbly and track the ground well so i maintain grip on everything.
