Health problem or normal?

I e been cycling for a couple of years. Normally I get in 2 or 3 25 mile rides a week.
Recently I have noticed that after a ride, it could anything from 30 mins to a couple of hours later I get a feeling of lightheadedness and shortness of breath. The sensation only lasts a short time then goes away.
I have put this down to pushing myself too hard, possible dehydration and or lack of salts sugar in the body.
The more I reseach this the more it concerns me that there may be a
ore serious underlying problem. I have suffered from asthma in the past but I'm not getting the usual tight chest one normally associates with this.
So is this a normal reaction to overdoing it?
I'm 45 average heart rate over a ride (from hrm) is about 150-160 max 180s for short duration. Normally during a ride of about 1hour40 mins i will drink a litre of fluid,no food.
These symptems have only started happening over the last the months, the only difference is that this year I have done less cycllng tuan in prev years.
So before I trot off and see the doc I'd welcome any thoughts please.

See your doc. I'd say it was some kind of drop in blood pressure causing it, but I'm no doctor.I have nothing more to say on the matter.0

not on the bike, but i had some problems a few years ago with breathing due to my spine being out of shape .. see the doc, but consider posture possibly?0

Don't know, the lightheadednes is quite a common one.
I get it after some rides when I get up from a sitting position too quickly. My mate had it while urinating and he fainted from it knocking his head quite badly. When he asked on tinternet quite a few people said they'd experienced similar and in fact there's a name for it??
But I'm no doctor either.0 -

Things is, whenever I've had my blood pressure done it's always been regarded as high, yet I get this light headedness which is a symptom of low blood pressure! I suppose it's all relative to the person though, when I've had a hard ride my bp will be low FOR ME.0
