Can anyone recommend a quiet, robust indoor trainer for someone that lives in a mid-floor apartment and who doesn't want to upset his nice neighbours?

Checking on youtube they sound quite noisy to me, but then that might just be the sound quality of home made style videos

I have also heard they can be noisey and like yourself i live in a mid level apartment so i will be watching this one closely

All makes and models create a fair amount of noise. It can be controlled to a certain extend by placing the turbo on a foam sleeping bag mat (also good for keeping sweat off the floor) and by using a dedicate turbo tyre.
