Let's play "What position did Boonen get in the sprint"!!!
My guess is 18th.
looked more like 16th0 -
Well, pleased for Cav. Boonen must be finding it hard to look anyone in the face at the dinner table. Where was he again?0
-
And Cav mentions the 'internet forum' people, as sayin the finish wasn't suited to him... Well done Cav!!0
-
Good sprint, great interview afterwards:
Interveiwer: People said that finish didn't suit you?
MC: Who said that? Internet forum people?
Brilliant!0 -

What is left to say about the dullness of these proceedings?
A follows B follows C, everyday.
Not only is Cav miles quicker than the rest, who are the rest?
They seem to comprise of only Farrar and Hushovd, each day.
At this rate, Farrar could pinch one to make his Tour a dream.
Mine? Remains a nightmare of daily deja vu.
Agreed Blazing, its just a waiting game between mountain ranges, although the first of those didn't prove much did it...0 -
It's "Breaking News" on Sky news. (they have it on at work)
Chap next to me said "who is Mark Cavendish?"Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

Correct. Just managed to beat that well-known sprinter Andreas Kloden.0 -
I know people are bored of the wins but you can't blame cav and htc for simply being the best. One of three things may happen over time:
1/ The Columbia team fails to keep such a super lead out team together or the mix gets messed up making it much harder for a cav win.
2/ Cav gets a little older loses some speed and can't rely on explosive power soley outgun others.
3/ Another great talent or a team with a decent talent will get their tactics right, crack the riddle on how to beat HTC and make it more competative. I guess thats hard when they only have six chances per tour to try out their theory.0 -
From the overhead you can see that Thor was trying to turn a massive gear compared to Cav...0

Awesome sprint finish by Cav. He really is untouchable.
Got a bit pushy towards the end, Tony Martin didn't seem to like having the Milram guys next to him.Shazam !!0 -
He was only 3/4 of a bike length ahead of Farrar - pretty close really. Farrar had a good enough run at him and got pretty close to be fair.0

guess you are on the list of people cav has insulted now"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0 -

Hushovd said that he was surprised by the final slope. He thought it would be 2-3% so he went in using a wrong gear ratio. He should've read this thread I suppose."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
"Fail to prepare, prepare to fail".
Hushovd should have read the road book. In addition, someone from the team should have scouted the finish, if not before the race then at least today one of the soigneurs at the finish should have got on the phone to describe the finish so the info could reach Hushovd by phone. Cav said he used the 13 or 14 sprocket instead of his customary 11T. Hushovd was floundering in too big a gear.
Incidentally the road book is WRONG for tomorrow's stage, it shows this:
But the "244m - Avenue Georges Clemenceau" should read 344, there is no way they climb 105m in the final 500m.0 -
Well I'm not bored watching Cav... Its fantastic watching a clinical professional team doing their stuff... I'm screaming at the tele every night... great entertainment0
