    Gaz, well done !!!

It wasn't an easy ride by any means, and a vicious headwind from Preston all the way to the finish was a real energy sapper, so good on you for getting to the finish line

There is some real ranting going on about how bad this event is run and how bad the people participating were behaving over in Road Beginners if anyone wants to chip in.

Congrats Gaz - next year, there and back and with a road bike! :)

    Very well done Gaz.

I also did the ride yesterday and really enjoyed it, but my legs give up the ghost in the last 10 miles. I agree with a lot of the comments about dodgy manoevers seen yesterday. I heard some very disappointing comments from motorists around Manchester.
One bloke shouted " Well done cyclists , give yourselves a big clap"

Yeah my legs were out around the same time, must have been that headwind

There was a point where there was around 500 of us going though a tight twisty section and a vectra blew past, holding his horn, and flicking the bird all the way past.

I also have to agree about the twisty, slippy down hill section at Haige Hall, It should be removed for next year, but I enjoyed it as I have some sections like it where I live but the amount of people locking wheels was scary, I saw a person overshoot the TIGHT right hander.

You almost have to feel a twinge of sympathy for someone like that, I actually get quite turned on by that sort of thing, makes me feel even better about myself in an odd way

If I was a copper I would always be suspicious of anyone in a pre-millenium vectra/mondeo. They just seem to scream out public disorder, especially those ones with the big boots, just utterly pointless really (unless you have something to hide  )

Anyway, a very enjoyable read, and a great inspiration. Well done mate
